<p>Hello all, I'm going to keep this as simple as possible. A few days ago, the people who hosted Brickimedia got hacked and our server's content was deleted. We had backups - also on the server, also delete. The host said they kept remote backups, they obviously lied.
</p><p>At this point, we have two options - we could either try again with Brickimedia, or we could stay on Wikia. Trust me when I say that I don't like Wikia any more than you probably do, <i>but</i>, as an experiment Brickimedia wasn't going too well. While we did have all of the active admins on board, we had 1/3 the active users as this site, and almost none of LMBW. We still hadn't completed all of the features, meaning that the only real reason for someone to contribute to the new site was to get away from Wikia. That isn't a good reason, and it wasn't gaining us any new users outside the previous community. Our ads from other fansites were also not bringing in appreciable numbers of visitors.
</p><p>I don't want to further fracture the community, so I think it would be best to stay on Wikia. For now, anyway. Maybe someday when Wikia doesn't have a monopoly over all smaller-content wikis. The thing is, a grand total of 0 wikis who have forked off of Wikia have beat out the old Wikia site. Uncyclopedia, WoWWiki, Simpsons Wiki... I could go on. But, nothing lasts forever. Neither will Wikia. IMO, we should wait for a better time to move - or heck, maybe Wikia will be able to accommodate us. I guarantee that I will never stop pressing them for that.

</p><p>I've talked about the situation with a few people since the data loss happened (Ajr, CJC, UltrasonicNXT and ToaMeiko). As I said to them, this is not the way we would have liked you to be considering returning to Wikia. Data loss is always heartbreaking, and I know many people worked hard to get Brickimedia going.
</p><p>I also know that there are still a lot of hard feelings about Wikia in this community. Ajr's words are harsh, but I know he isn't alone in feeling this way. I know that unhappiness is partly because of aspects of the site that people dislike, and partly because of the conflict and disagreements since the fork. I don't think that anything other than time can change that, but I for one am willing to try.
</p><p>To start with, I have removed the blocks I put in place over the last few weeks (global and local) and withdraw any objections to admins rights being returned as needed. Admin actions, including deletions, are now back in your hands too.
</p><p>One thing I am concerned about, is the idea of any return to Wikia being a temporary step. This wiki was just starting to make some progress in recovering from the fork (although it would have taken much longer to be back to being a strong community) and repeating the whole process would be a hard thing for all of us. So I very much hope that you will consider a <i>real</i> move back, and give Wikia another try.

<p>I actually began to really like Brickimedia's format better. The ease of switching between wikis, the HTML in chat, the tighter community; I really miss it, actually, and not due to any resentment towards wikia. Plus, there was the fan community response; there's no way I can go back to editing a site when I know that people liked the content we offered on Brickimedia better. I personally, for those reasons, hope that we can get Brickimedia up again. If not, I'm not sure I'd be able to bring myself to really re-integrate myself here.

<p>I`m probably the only person who will say this but I kinda like wiki better.(mostly because I didn`t have the slightest idea on how to use the forums)
