But in conjunction with other evidence, I'd say that the signs point that way.
They might surprise us though, but I think it's more likely they'll do what they did with Indiana Jones, maybe the Complete Saga (with LOTR) if they are feeling generous.

Well, they just report what WB tell them :P

Yeah, but it is totally possible that they could misinterpret some things.
What could WB tell them that would lead to a misinterpretation?
That just wouldn't make any sense.
I don't know. Why was there a news source claiming Deathstrike was on the character grid in LEGO Marvel? And a news source stating someone voicing Cheetah in LEGO Batman 2? We can't trust news articles after seeing those two false characters. We'll need to hear from a TT Games employee's own mouth. Or see a poster or trailer that actually state it is coming out in Spring. Listening to just words of news reporters can cause rumors and speculations that may eventually turn out false due to miscommunications. Have you played the telephone game? The one where you whisper something in someone's ear and they pass a phrase down the line until they get to the last person who states the phrase he heard which is usually different from the original phrase? Some news sources get information from other news sources. By the way CJ, can you link the video to let me know what you're talking about? I don't know if it was an interview or just some news anchor.
Maybe Deahstrike and Cheetah were removed from the final game? Either way, this is a large chunk of the game, not just one character out of dozens.
You can be optimistic all you like, but the evidence is not in your favor. First the booklet says it will be based on two movies. Then Escapist says it'll be based on two movies.
Yes, of course I know what the telephone game is. I would also appreciate if you did not patronize me. Anyway, I highly doubt that WB was playing anything reminiscent of the telephone game with Escapist. The information would be transferred right from the source to the writer, not between 20 kindergartners, half of which can barely speak.
I guess that they might postpone the game from when we think it'll be released (I think that has happened with TT before, but I can't really remember when) until later so that they will have time to add in the third movie, but I doubt it. From what we have been presented with, the chance is slim.
Again, believe what you want, but don't get your hopes up.
That teaser poster doesn't say There and Back Again isn't in the game. In fact it confirms it when you read the copyright text on the bottom right: "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, The Hobbit: There and Back Again: cWBEITM Middle-earth Ent. Inc. to New Line (s13)." And the two logoes on top aren't Unexpected Journey and Desolation of Smaug. They are the game's logo translated in English and French. I find this image to be more credible than the rumors of There and Back Again not in the game because this image was made by LEGO, unlike those news sites like Escapist. It would be false advertisement to mention There and Back Again in a teaser poster if nothing from that movie is in the game and it is normal for news reporters to spread false rumors. There and Back Again will be in the game. It is right there in the fine print. No one can argue with it without lawyers. My explanation for the contradiction, someone must have speculated and his speculation was so convincing that a lot of news reporters believed the lies and reported without thorough investigation. If I'm wrong, someone show me an interview with Arthur Parsons stating that There and Back Again won't be included. Otherwise, this poster is the most reliable and official source. It listed There and Back Again. There and Back Again is in the game unless stated otherwise by TT Games.
