You guys all know making that awesome LEGO SDCC Comic-Con exclusive Spider-Man minifigure, well, exclusive, was a huge mistake on the LEGO company's part. So let's make a petition for them to make OFFICIAL LEGO The Amazing Spider-Man 2 sets. Now who's with me?

Actually, I'm still right. As Marvel/Disney DOES have the merch rights, they still need to sign with SONY. Everything being sold at Disney Stores Amazing Spider-Man related must go through SONY first. Lego would have needed permission from SONY for the SDCC figure to be made. And I hope you know, ComicBookMovie is an illegitimate source and most of what they post is immature and incorrect and just plain stupid.

One flaw. Mavel/Disney has those merchandising rights, not LEGO. Plus as I said I`m pretty sure the CC Exclusive Spider-Man was a comic variant.

Actually, no it was from the ASM2, but like I said Lego would have needed permission and a contract would have been signed.

I'm pretty sure when Marvel/Disney gets the merch rights, LEGO will be able to make sets, considering Marvel/Disney and LEGO have the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes theme running, with part of it dedicated to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It would just have to be added to their contract with Disney though. It's possible to be included once the contract is renewed (purportedly at the end of 2014) so maybe there will be sets for ASM3. :P It probably comes down to what Disney wants.
