It really is a sin that Lego The Hobbit only adapted the first two Hobbit movies. Why bother starting something if you are not going to see it completely finished, especially considering that it ended on such a cliff hanger? We need a complete story to finish off the series in Lego form, whether in a new game or DLC (like they were planning to do). If you agree with me, then please sign and share this to as many people as you can. https://www.change.org/p/warner-brothers-lego-release-lego-the-hobbit-the-battle-of-the-five-armies-dlc
There have not been any LOTR sets as of late- will we see any more, or is the theme unofficially discontinued? It can't be discontinued yet, because that would be listed with the 2014 discontinued sets. Several different sources have listed the same sets (for the most part). Here's what I have figured out, but it might not be what's coming.
- The Mirror of Galadriel About $12.99 Frodo Baggins, Galadriel Comes with the mirror of Galadriel, maybe a statue
- Amon Hen Ambush About $25, maybe $30 Boromir, Merry, Uruk-Hai, Lurtz Comes with the Hill of Sight, a ruin with a palantir tower with no palantir. Where Aragorn found Frodo and fought off the Uruk-hai.
- Defense of Osgiliath About $40 Ranger of Ithilien, Soldier of Gondor, Orc x2 (It would be great to have a Faramir, Madril, or Gothmog, but again these sets aren't necessarily what will happen) Comes with a ruined tower, maybe a catapult or something, and an Orc boat
- Witch-King Showdown About $60 (maybe a bit over-priced) Eowyn, Théoden, Witch-King, Nazgul (Maybe), Merry (Maybe), Orc (Maybe) Comes with Fell-beast, Théoden's horse, maybe an Orc siege tower or something.
- Siege on Minas Tirith About $120 (maybe less, I'm not sure Gandalf the White, Pippin (Guard), Soldier of Gondor x2, Orc x2 (possible Denethor, Faramir, and Gothmog, but no guarantees). Comes with Orc tower (maybe), parts of Minas Tirith, hopefully the White Tree of Gondor, maybe the pyre of Denethor and a trebuchet.
Anybody heard anything about any of these sets or more?
As of right now, no news of any 2015 LEGO Lord of the Rings sets has surfaced. Does this mean that the 2014 line of Hobbit sets will be the last line of Middle-earth related sets?
There is only a month before Thor The Dark World is released in theatres. Typically, they release Lego sets before the movies, right? Likewise, pictures of sets tend to be leaked beforehand, too. We have seen none. Is there any chance we will see Thor TDW sets, or is it beyond hope?
Also, if they are not making Thor sets, why not? The most obvious answer is that they have already released their limit of Marvel Superheroes sets this year - Ultimate Spiderman and Iron Man 3.
Another idea I have is that Lego is unable to make Thor TDW sets, because of the Dark Elves. Perhaps TLC has some sort of agreement with the New Line Cinema/Middle-earth Enterprises that they cannot create any elf characters while they are still producing LOTR/Hobbit sets. They have made Collectible Minifigure elves, but maybe there are restrictions about elves from other Licensed Themes. What do you thing of Malekith, Algrim, and the other Dark Elves ears being the reason for no Thor TDW sets? I was really hoping for Thor sets, because I thought they'd go well with my LOTR/Hobbit sets.
Ok everyone, picture this.... Lego mount doom! it could be the big mountain, some lava stickers (or orange lego bricks) going down the side, a big path going up around to the top. the path up could have features like rocks falling, trap doors and secret passages with skeletons, treasures, and crap like that. then at the top would be a room with the bridge and then the pit down to the lava. the bridge could have a collapsing feature, and the lava at the bottom ( a ton of orange bricks) should be on a elevator, and that might make it look like the lava is rising. The minfigures could be frodo and sam with their clothes torn and stuff, gollum, and a couple skeletons. if anyone else would like to add, then post.
Does anyone else think that with a proper head swap, Evil Knight would make a great Black Numenorean or armoured Nazgul for the Lord of the Rings/ The Hobbit theme?
Hi, I noticed Lego boromirs hair is ginger when boromir is actually blonde.... Am I the only person annoyed by this???
Well, in my opinion there should be a separate template for characters from "The Hobbit". Right now, the characters are combined into the LoTR template. The Hobbit and LoTR are 2 separate themes. It kinda looks messy having them all smooshed into one, and it would make more sense for a separate "The Hobbit" character template. I'd even be willing to make the template, if anything. Please discuss your opinions, and if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask! -LD101
