40401 Dog and Cat Friendship Day is a Monthly Mini Model Build set that was released between July 1 and July 31, 2020.
Description[]
There are 73 pieces, used to make two builds. The cat is made from a 2 x 2 Black plate attached to a 2 x 2 x 2/3 Black angular plate. A 1 x 2 Reddish Brown plate is placed on top of that, and two White 1 x 1 plates with holders are placed under it, forming the first set of paws. A 1 x 2 Black plate with knob with a 1 x 2 Black plate with bow pointing upwards is connected to the angular plate, forming a tail. On top of the Reddish Brown tile is two Dark Stone Gray 1 x 1 x 1 1/3 bricks with arches, each pointing outwards. Under these arches is two more 1 x 1 White plates with holders, forming the second set of paws. Two more arch bricks are placed behind them pointing backwards, and a 1 x 2 Black palisade brick is placed before them. On top of this newly formed surface is a 2 x 2 Bright Red plate, and on top of that is two 1 x 1 White bricks with knobs, one pointing to the right and one pointing backwards. On top of those bricks is a 1 x 2/2 x 2 Black angular plate pointing forward, with four builds (1 x 2 Black plates with bows with 1 x 1 Black plates under them) attached to the sides as to form ears and a rounded head. Two inward-facing 1 x 1 Black roof tiles are used as ears, and two googly eyes are placed on the angular plate. Two 1 x 1 White plates with teeth are used, with a 1 x 2 Black plate with knob on top and a Light Purple stud on top of that. This is connected to the face to make a snout.
The dog is built from a 2 x 4 Reddish Brown plate with a 1 x 2 White plate with handle on the end and another 2 x 4 Reddish Brown plate in front of that. At the back end of that plate is two Light Purple studs, with two 1 x 1 x 1 1/3 Reddish Brown arch bricks on top of those. Four Black 1 x 2 roof tiles with under-hang are used, connected to the arches and the front of the plate as to form paws. A 2 x 3 White brick with arch at the end is on top of that, and another two arch bricks are connected to the first two but faced backwards. A 1 x 2 1/2 White angular plate is placed on top of the White brick, pointing outwards. A 1 x 2 Reddish Brown plate is placed on top of a 2 x 2 Reddish Brown plate, with two 1 x 1 White bricks with knobs placed in front of those. Two more Reddish Brown arch bricks are placed on top of those, with a 1 x 2 Reddish Brown plate on top of that. This build is placed on top of the White angular plate, with two googly eyes attached to the front. A 1 x 2 Black plate with knob has a Black fez on top of it, and is attached to the front. Ears are formed from under-hang roof tiles, and a tail is formed from plates with bows and plates with snaps. A food dish is built from a 3 x 3 Bright Purple heart, dish, and bone accessory.

- Even though most Monthly Mini Model Builds of 2020 are related to a holiday, this has no clear festival linked to it. It may be related to the saying "dog days," which begin in July, but other than that there is no holiday associated with this set.
