4483 AT-AT is a set released in 2003 as part of the Classic Star Wars line. Included are four minifigures, an AT-AT walker, and an Imperial Snow Trooper speeder bike. It has 1064 pieces.
Description[]
The set includes two Snowtroopers, a Luke Skywalker (pilot), and one AT-AT Pilot. An AT-AT model, with moveable legs and a detailed body along with a small white and black speeder bike which can be ridden by a Snowtrooper are included as well. The set obviously focuses on the AT-ATs in the Battle of Hoth, including snow terrain in the background of the box, and minifigures which appeared in the Battle of Hoth. This LEGO set is legendary among LEGO builders and collectors and was voted one of the worst LEGO set's ever made.
Background[]
The All Terrain Armored Transport (AT-AT) walker was a major part of the Galactic Empire's army. It was one of the most heavily armored land vehicles in the Imperial Army, not to mention probably one of the largest, but was also known for its relatively slow speed and poor performance in certain terrains earlier in it's development. AT-ATs were famously used in the Battle of Hoth, as the main offensive vehicles of the Empire. The walker is capable of holding up to 5 speeder bikes, 40 Imperial Soldiers, heavy weaponry, as well as 2 AT-STs, however they have to be partially disassembled.
Notes[]
- This set was the first model of a large-scale AT-AT.
- Also included in the set is a small Hoth Snowtrooper speeder, which is similar to the one in 8084 Snowtrooper Battle Pack. The speeder has never appeared in any of the movies.
