4707 Hagrid's Hut is a Harry Potter set released in 2001. Containing Hagrid's octagonal hut, the set is based upon Hagrid's residence on the Hogwarts Schoolgrounds from the book and movie Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. It is the first rendition of the set, and was revamped in the sets 4754 Hagrid's Hut released in 2004 and 4738 Hagrid's Hut released in 2010. Included are Professor Dumbledore, Rubeus Hagrid, and, as of that particular year, was the only set that included the dragon, Norbert.

Description

The Hut

The Hut is designed to fit alongside 4709 Hogwarts Castle. It hinges up to make an eight-sided hut. The one-roomed dwelling is a modest dwelling for Hagrid's oversized minifigure, and a stone effect is created with grey bricks printed with stone and moss markings. The chimney stack rotates to turn flames on and off in the fireplace and the door opens and closes. The set includes two gold-effect keys, an ax, a pickax, a cart, a hinged fire grille containing the baby dragon Norbert sitting in the fire, and a cupboard front that opens to reveal a book inside. Notably, the roof of the hut is eight pieces of strengthened laminated paper in order to have a flexible, folding roof. A black rubber band fastens around the studs at the top of the roof to hold the eight parts together.

Minifigures

The minifigures included are Hagrid and Professor Dumbledore. Though not genearlly considered a minifigure, the set also includes Norbert, Hagrid's baby dragon. This set was the only set to contain this piece for almost ten years, but now it also appears in the new Kingdoms theme in earth green as a typical dragon and as a statue on the Dragon Knight's tower. The latest Hagrid's Hut also includes a Norbert.
