6049 Viking Voyager is a Castle set of the Crusaders faction and has been released in 1987. The set contains a large rowing boat and five Crusader soldiers.
Description
The Viking Voyager ship of 1987 bears little resemblance to any of the much later sets from the official Vikings range of 2005-06. The "vikings" aboard this small craft are two Crusaders knights, and three soldiers of the Crossed Axes crest, who row the red-and gray vessel using spears as oars, bearing their treasure towards a distant shore with colorful banners afurl.
The ship transports a treasure chest filled with a yellow goblet and two round 1x1 plates. Since real oar pieces were not introduced until the advent of the Pirates theme in 1989, this set uses spears instead.
