6953 Cosmic Laser Launcher is a Futuron set released in 1987. It contains a launch base with a small spacecraft, a small truck and three Futuron astronauts.
Notes
- The launchpad's canopy can be opened via a rack mechanism which is a design feat that was also included in 6987 Message-Intercept Base. This rack lift is also used to raise the spacecraft into lauching position.
- Interestingly, another launchpad with a rocket-propelled capsule was released in 1987, 6972 Polaris-I Space Lab, which was oddly a Classic Space set with Futuron colors.
- Part 3010p05 is unique to this set.
- This is one of two sets in which Part 4448 is black.
- This is the only set in which Part 2348a is trans blue.
- This is one of threes sets in which Part 2448 is trans blue.
- Part 2408p04 is unique to this set.
- This is the only set in which Part 2419 is trans blue.
- This is one of two sets in which Part 202 is white.
