The Green Ninja Mech Dragon features articulated snapping jaws, a fully posable body, wheel-activated swooshing tail, 2 leg-mounted stud shooters and 2 hidden pop-out thrusters. This set includes 4 minifigures with assorted weapons—including The Green Ninja's sword and Garmadon's laser-style pointer—to offer even more role-play battle possibilities.

Garmadon's blue robe is exclusive to this set; the figure is otherwise identical that that found in 70613 Garma Mecha Man, 70631 Garmadon's Volcano Lair, 70656 Garmadon, Garmadon, GARMADON!, and 70657 Ninjago City Docks. A different torso printing is also the only thing separating this figure from the Lord Garmadon featured in 70643 Temple of Resurrection and 70658 Oni Titan.
Each of the other minifigures appears in multiple sets as well:
- Lloyd also appears in 70613, 70656, and 70657 with the other releases of Garmadon. He appears without Garmadon in 70618 Destiny's Bounty and 70628 Lloyd - Spinjitzu Master, with a hairpiece instead of a hood in 70617 Temple of the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon, and with separate civilian and Green Ninja outfits in 70620 Ninjago City.
- Sensei Wu also appears in 70618 (with a different head) and in 70608 Master Falls.
- Charlie/Shark Army Gunner also appears in 70609 Manta Ray Bomber and 70620.
