The set contains 42 pieces. It contains one minifigure, E.T., and a customized tag. He also has an accessory, a yellow flower. The tag has a custom E.T. based design, which spawns E.T. into the game. The set contains one buildable part, a large version of E.T.'s Phone Home from the film. The Phone Home also has a tag, but it is not customized. The tag can spawn the Phone Home into the game, as well as unlock in-game customizations for the Phone Home, as well as alternate builds and power ups. It also unlocks the exclusive E.T. hub world and Battle Arena.

- Like all other LEGO Dimensions minifigures, he can actually be detached from his tag, as the portal only requires the technology within the tag.
- Like all other Dimensions sets, the Phone Home contains three different alternative builds. Builds included are the Phone Home, a hovering laser, and a hovering signal transmitter.
