71363 Desert Pokey Expansion Set is a Super Mario set that was designed by Leon Pijnenburg[1] and released on August 1, 2020.

Description

Most of the terrain is fairly level, consisting of yellow nodes bridged by yellow plates, meant to represent desert. The highest point is a thin insurmountable sand dune, between two cacti, intended to help keep the set’s namesake, Pokey, upright. Pokey’s body consists of four cubes stacked together, the surfaces of which are studless so as to allow for easy stacking and unstacking. The top cube has a happy face printed on it and a red and pink flower growing out of the cube’s top. All of its cubes are decorated with eleven green 1×1 pyramid bricks to represent its spines. However, the backs of the cubes use modified 1×2 pole connexions, enforced with green cones, to help secure Pokey in the sand dune’s grey groove.

Before Pokey is a little path to yellow node. It carries a rotatable grey tray in which Mario can stand to activate the action tile, and the tray has a grey mallet springing from its face. Scanning the action tile plays a world map song from Super Mario Bros 3. The default objective is to turn Mario back and forth in this tray, thereby generating coins and hammering away at the Pokey’s cubes. One of these fallen cubes shall have an action tile that Mario can scan for a decade of coins. The side-builds consists of two small yellow nodes, one which supports a lone cactus and another for the set’s other foe: Monty Mole, whose action tile Mario can scan for a coin.
