The Destiny's Bounty 3.0 was apparently rebuilt into this configuration some time before the Ninja traveled to Shintaro. It was attacked by Dire Bats and nearly crashed on that voyage, but was saved by the Shintaro Royal Guard. Repaired, it was used by the Ninja and Wu to depart Shintaro. Later, P.I.X.A.L. used it to drop the Ninja and their vehicles off near the Island of the Keepers.

The Bounty 4.0 was used to rescue civilians during Kalmaar’s invasion of Ninjago City, but was damaged by Wojira. After being employed as a sailing ship for a time, it was left on autopilot and abandoned to distract the invaders. A year later, Cole and Zane used the Bounty on their mission to collect Kai, Lloyd, and Jay, who had left the team after Nya merged with the Endless Sea. Shortly thereafter, Hounddog McBrag would impound it and other vehicles belonging to the Ninja after they committed a series of crimes in order to restore Nya to human form.

After Lloyd was captured by the Crystal King, the other Ninja stole back the Bounty and their other vehicles. The Bounty would continue to be used throughout the battles with the Crystal King until being shot down-in two pieces-some time before the final battle.

A dream version of the Bounty appeared in “Dream Team”, with Wu and P.I.X.A.L. using it to engage the Nightmare Shark Ship. True to form, it was brought down by Grimspawn, but prevented from crashing by the teamwork of the Ninja, Dream Chasers, and Z-Blob.

The real Bounty 4.0 was later rebuilt and employed by the Ninja during the Merge, only to be caught up in the effects of that event. Rediscovered by Kai, it was flown back to the Monastery of Spinjitzu, and used by Kai to fly to a close at least one Nerge quake rift. Afterwards, Kai took it as he set out to investigate the merged realms. He and Nya later employed it in battle against a pair of Earth Dragons on behalf of the Craglings. Damaged, the ship was set on autopilot by Nya and sent back to the monastery in hopes that it would bring the other Ninja back to help. By this point, Lloyd was making use of the new Destiny's Bounty 5.0.
