7198 Fighter Plane Attack is an Indiana Jones set released in June 2009. Indiana Jones, Henry Jones, and a Pilot minifigure all appear in the set.
Description[]
There are two planes in the set, a bi-winged white one, and a grey one. The white one has got black bars to hold up the wings, and a red tail with a stripe continuing partly down the plane. The tail can also come off. The other plane is grey, and it has two guns tucked in under the wings. When the back glass is pushed down, the wings fall out.
Notes[]
- 7198 is printed four times on the German plane, the same number as the set's ID number.
- The German Fighter plane does not appear in LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues. The German Biplane was replaced by a seaplane in the hub world.
- In the film, the German fighters had a Swastika prominently emblazoned on the tail. Like with all of the classic Indiana Jones sets, TLG likely chose not to include any specifically Nazi-related symbols due to policies regarding Nazi symbols in Germany, one of their primary markets.
- The German fighter in the movie is played by a Pilatus P-2, a Swiss trainer developed after World War II. However, it is most likely meant to represent an Arado Ar-96, a similar-looking German World War II trainer that also served as a light attack plane.
