7203 Jedi Defense I is a set released in the 2002 Star Wars line and contained 58 pieces.
Description[]
The set includes two Droidekas and Obi-Wan Kenobi in Padawan form. The Droidekas are larger than a minifigure, with three legs and a transparent brick to help prop it up. The spines of the droids are set on a hinge and can roll forward in a rough approximation of its ball form. Obi-wan has brown legs and a brown cape, with tan tunic printing and a padawan braid. When combined with Jedi Defense II it creates the first scene of Episode I.
Background[]
When Obi-Wan Kenobi and his master Qui-Gon Jinn went aboard a Trade federation cruiser, they were suddenly attacked by battle droids. These they destroyed, but while Qui-Gon was cutting open a door with his lightsaber, Obi-Wan was left to fight two Droidekas alone. Droidekas could roll into a ball for quick traveling and they had the ability to generate their own shields. The two Jedi were forced to retreat from their position due to the overwhelming firepower produced by these two droids.
