Background[]

The combat speeder was a model of repulsorcraft developed by the Confederacy of Independent Systems and personally used by General Grievous during the Clone Wars. Following Grievous' belief in authority and lethality, the speeder featured a powerful turbine engine, a pair of laser cannons, and recessed rocket launchers in the forward prow. The craft was steered by a simple column connected to the directional vanes. Around 20 BBY, Grievous used his speeder in his campaign to conquer the planet Florrum, where he used it to chase Hondo Ohnaka, his remaining pirates, and a group of Jedi Younglings in order to prevent them from retreating Florrum. He presumably continued to use it throughout the Clone Wars, though he didn't appear to use it as often as other vehicles.

The speeder also appeared in LEGO Star Wars: All-Stars.
