This is the second complete Hogwarts Express set and the fifth set overall. It is also the second to be based on Prisoner of Azkaban (third including the motorized version).
This Hogwarts Express is the first to use actual steam locomotive wheels, complete with coupling rods.
This is the second Hogwarts Express set to include Platform 9¾, the first being the original 4708 Hogwarts Express. However, the sign is a sticker rather than a printed part.
This is the first appearance of the Trolley Witch in physical minifigure form.
Despite this set being based on Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry, Ron and Hermione have short legs instead of the regular type. In the film, the three are teenagers.
