Background

The Radiant VII was a Consular-Class Space Cruiser built on Corellia. Under Maoi Madakor and its new copilot, Lieutenant Antidar Williams, the ship's final mission took place[2] in 32 BBY:[3] delivering Jedi MasterQui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi to Naboo in an attempt to end the blockade that was placed on the planet by theTrade Federation. However, soon after landing inside the Saak'ak, the Radiant VII was destroyed upon Darth Sidious' orders, killing both crew members and preventing an easier escape by Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi. The two Jedi were then forced to escape from theSaak-ak.[2] On their way through the vessel's hangar bay, Jinn and Kenobi took cover behind the Radiant VII'swreckage while they disabled a laser turret.

Notes

  • Some releases of this set featured the Episode III Obi-Wan Kenobi head (like the one featured in the 7255 General Grievous Chase, not the headset version). It was accidentally used in place of the new flesh-coloured Qui-Gon Jinn head. This problem can be alleviated by contacting the LEGO Company's Customer Service.
  • It is currently the only set to contain Antidar Williams, Maoi Madakor and R2-R7 minifigures.
  • A set based on the Charger C70 retrofit (wartime modification) of the Consular class cruiser was released in 2011 under the The Clone Wars line as 7964 Republic Frigate. 7964 bears many design similarities to this set, although it features more weapons and a different colour scheme.
  • Due to the Republic captain and pilot minifigure's characteristics and the fact that these minifigures are the two crewmembers in the set representing the Radiant VII, it is likely that the minifigures are based on the characters of respectively Maoi Madakor and Antidar Williams, however this has never been confirmed by LEGO. LEGO Star Wars Character Encyclopedia also speculates that these are these figures.
