79007 Battle at the Black Gate is a set in the theme The Lord of the Rings released in June 2013.

Description

The set includes a black horse, a small tower and the Black Gate, which can open and close. The gate also features a locking mechanism, which locks the two gates together at the back. Included in the set are five minifigures. The Mouth of Sauron is currently exclusive to this set, as are the included variants of Gandalf and Aragorn. Also included are two Mordor Orcs. A Great Eagle is also present in the set.

Background

After Mordor's army was defeated at the Pelennor Fields, Aragorn lead an army of the remaining soldiers of Rohan and Gondor to the Black Gate to distract Sauron's attention, so that he would not see Frodo.
