Description

The set includes a black horse, a small tower and the Black Gate, which can open and close. The gate also features a locking mechanism, which locks the two gates together at the back. Included in the set are five minifigures. The Mouth of Sauron is currently exclusive to this set, as are the included variants of Gandalf and Aragorn. Also included are two Mordor Orcs. A Great Eagle is also present in the set.

Background

After Mordor's army was defeated at the Pelennor Fields, Aragorn lead an army of the remaining soldiers of Rohan and Gondor to the Black Gate to distract Sauron's attention, so that he would not see Frodo. When Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Gandalf, Pippin, Merry, Éomer and the army arrived at the gate. In the book and Extended Edition of the movie, the Mouth of Sauron came out and tried to make them think Frodo was dead and convince them to surrender. Aragorn killed the Mouth of Sauron, and then the Black Gate opened, releasing a great army of Orcs. During the battle, the Great Eagles arrived and killed many Fell Beasts. The battle continued, and the soldiers of Rohan and Gondor were about to lose, but the Ring was finally destroyed then, causing the soldiers of Mordor to lose their spirit. Gandalf led the eagles to rescue Frodo and Sam from Mount Doom.
