In the Slizer storyline, the Fire Slizer is one of the Good Slizers battling against the Evil Slizers for control of Planet Slizer. He resides in the fire continent, where he battles fire monsters and searches for diamonds to provide his energy and increase the range of his flamethower. In one of the comics, the Good Slizers combine to form the Super Slizer, which prompts the Evil Slizers to form the Mega Slizer in retaliation.
In the 1999 Throwbots storyline, Torch is the protector of the Torch Planet. He is characterized as a hothead who often has to put out the fires he accidentally starts.
In both storylines, Fire/Torch is one of the survivors when the Slizer/Throwbot Planet is struck by a meteor on New Year's Eve 2000. The Good Slizers continue to battle against the new mutant Slizers.
