8506 Granite, released in Europe as 8506 Rock Slizer, is a Slizer/Throwbots set released in 1999.

Description[]

Rock/Granite has two pickaxes and a Disc launcher arm. The set can be combined with Judge/Jet, Jungle/Amazon and Energy/Electro to build Ultrarex.

Background[]

In the Slizer storyline, the Rock Slizer is one of the Evil Slizers battling against the Good Slizers for control of Planet Slizer. He resides in the rock continent, where he searches for heavy water to protect himself and destroy the stone monster. In one of the comics, Rock and the other Evil Slizers to form the Mega Slizer to battle Super Slizer.

In the 1999 Throwbots storyline, Granite is the protector of the Granite Planet. He is not characterized as a villain in this storyline, instead watching out for aliens.

In both storylines, the rock region of the Slizer/Throwbot Planet was destroyed by the meteor on New Year's Eve 2000. Rock/Granite's fate was unknown, although he may have mutated into Flare.

In his world, Granite has to be as tough as a rock. He can also snap down his infrared visor, and secretly watch for any nosy aliens. In case he needs a quick getaway, Granite just tucks, rocks, and rolls.
