8521 Flare, released in Europe as 8521 Flare Slizer, is a Slizer/Throwbots set released in 2000.

Description[]

Flare has wings and a disc launcher tail. He can also be combined with Spark and Blaster to create Dynamo.

Background[]

Flare emerged from the crater on the Slizer Planet when a meteor struck the planet on New Year's Eve 2000, possibly as a mutant form of Rock/Granite. Flare and the other mutant Slizers attack the surviving heroic Slizers, seeking supremacy over the planet. In the German LEGO World Club Magazine, Flare is characterized as having sharp vision, and his flying skills help him evade meteorite showers.

Build and collect all 12!

Now you and your friends can build and collect 12 cool Throwbots. Their amazing spring action arms let you launch discs that fly high! Great for targer^[sic] shooting contests or fast-flying battles. Launch yourself to victory! Each Throwbot measures approximately 3 1/2" tall unless otherwise noted. Each Throwbot comes with two discs. Plus, most sets include tips on combining multiple Throwbots to construct one SUPERBOT!
