88000 AAA Battery Box is a TECHNIC Power Functions set released in 2011.

Description

The battery box measures 8 studs long, 4 studs wide and 4 bricks high, exactly the same as 8878 Power Functions Rechargeable Battery Box. It holds 6 AAA batteries and can power 2 XL motors or 4 M motors at one time. The box is mostly dark grey with a light grey top. On top is a green on/off button with an LED indicator, an orange reversing switch and a connection point for power cables. This battery box is most often used in Trains sets.

The battery box will automatically turn off after 2 hours. However, the auto-shutoff can be disabled by pressing the power button for 3 seconds. The LED will blink, indicating that the battery box will stay on until turned off or the batteries drain fully.
