880 12 Volt Motor is a TECHNIC-themed supplementary set released in 1979. It includes 22 parts.
It has the distinction of the only official TECHNIC set to use the 12V standard, and it ran until 1983 when it appeared to be replaced by 8700 Power Pack (which was 4.5V)

- The motor was originally shown to be powered using 741 12V Transformer in its instruction leaflet, although this was replaced by 7864 Transformer / Speed Controller 12V in 1980, but the packaging or the instruction leaflet were never updated.
- In the United Kingdom, the motor was offered but the required 741 transformer never appeared in either the 1979 or 1980 catalogues since the "Blue Era" Trains theme was only sold in 4.5V format in that country.
