8866 Train Motor is a Trains set released in 2009. It is used for motorization of RC based Trains as well as Power Functions based Trains.

Notes

According to a discussion on Lowlug, the motor has been re-designed for more power & Power Functions socket compatability for Power Function based Trains; thus elimenating the need for a 9V-to-Power Functions connecting wire.
The re-designed motor was integrated in the first completely Power Functions based Trains sets released in 2010.
