8979 Malum is a BIONICLE set released in January 2009. In the set, Malum wields two fire claws and a shoulder-mounted Thornax launcher, and has a life counter for the "BIONICLE action figure game".
Background
Malum was exiled when he tried to kill Strakk who had surrendered in a arena match. He has then since wandered through the wastelands of Bara Magna, living with a pack of Vorox. Some time later, the Vorox attacked the Glatorians Gresh, Tarix, and Strakk as a request by Malum himself, then he ordered a retreat. Malum wields two fire claws and a Thornax launcher. He also has a lack of honour and fights dirty which makes him a dangerous opponent. He is the last Glatorian any Rahi will ever want to meet, and turning their back on him might be the last thing they ever do.
