Background

The Samurai Mech was developed by Nya as part of her identity as the first Samurai X, and used in her efforts against the Serpentine, though she would also employ her tools against the ninja in order to keep her identity secret. After she confessed her true identity, she would continue to use the mech to fight alongside her friends. The mech was later possessed by Ghoultar and became Mech-enstein, but was eventually recovered by the ninja. It was later employed by the new Samurai X to save Lloyd during the Vermillion attack on the Temple of Airjitzu, but shot down and crashed in the surrounding desert.

Notes

  • This is was the first set to not include atleast one of the ninja, excluding spinners and booster packs.
  • In The Rise Of The Snakes App, the mech is a boss. It uses ninja stars, cards and its sword. Its character is depicted in Daily Battle as a blank minifig that says ??????????? for a name. It is in truth Samurai X in the Ouroboros Slither Pit.
  • Snike is exclusive to this set.
  • The Samurai Mech can be seen in The LEGO Movie when Emmet shows Lord Business what people are doing with LEGO bricks. It also appears in The LEGO Movie Video Game in Finn's bedroom.
  • This set was given a Legacy remake in 2019, 70665 The Samurai Mech.
