A Big Splash is the one hundred and sixty-fifth episode of Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, and the first episode of season fourteen.
Plot[]
The Mechanic's Gang-or else an identical group of criminals-drive a group of trucks into a field in a rural area of Ninjago under the command of a criminal who calls herself Miss Demeanor. The group is smuggling Vengstone, but are interrupted when several farmers in the nearby field turn out to be the Ninja in disguise. The Ninja soon attack the criminals, who begin to drive off in an attempt to escape. On Lloyd's instructions, Nya attempts to soak the trucks so that Zane can freeze them. However, she unexpectedly loses control of the water cyclone she has conjured, and the Ninja are forced to abandon the pursuit in order to save a nearby village from the ensuing wave.
Back at the Monastery of Spinjitzu, the Ninja report their failed mission to Master Wu. After searching through his records, Wu reports that, unfortunately, he has no information on the power of Water. As he explains, Water and Wind were the only elemental powers that the First Spinjitzu Master never mastered, as they belonged to the monstrous Wojira. The boy Ninja, recognizing the name, listen as he explains that Wojira menaced the world that became Ninjago with the power of her Storm and Wave Amulets, the former of which Lloyd remembers from their encounter with the Keepers. She was eventually defeated, and sent into a deep slumber, when the First Spinjitzu Master received aid from the Merlopians, a sea-dwelling folk whose champion removed the amulets from Wojira.
Wu suggests reaching out to Maya, Kai and Nya's mother, who was the Master of Water before Nya. Kai is reluctant to suggest this to Nya, as their parents' long captivity at the hands of Krux has left Nya with little connection to or reliance upon their parents. Sure enough, when Kai proposes reaching out to their mother, Nya rejects the idea, though her powers malfunction yet again and cause various accidents all around the monastery. As Wu and the others approach her, however, a knock at the front gate announces the arrival of Maya and Ray in response to Kai contacting them about the situation. Maya soon bustles into the monastery, eagerly expressing her intent to help Nya, and leaving her daughter to angrily confront her brother over defying her wishes.
