The Alien Mosquitoid is a Galaxy Squad minifigure released in 2012. It appears in the sets 70701 Swarm Interceptor, 70702 Warp Stinger, and 70705 Bug Obliterator.

The Alien Mosquitoid is mainly olive green with lighter markings. It has a dark red diamond shape in the centre of its torso and hands of the same colour. Printing of several layers of an exoskeleton are also present on both the torso and legs. The edge of each layer is tipped in a light beige colour. This colour also lines the knee printing and the Mosquitoid's brow, above the compound eyes.

A back view of the minifigure

Transparent light green wings with a hex-pattern stick out from each side. The are part of a single piece that is located around the neck of the minifigure. The head is a completely new mould. It has large compound eyes that each have, instead of printing, many miniscule circular depressions depicting the individual eyes. Above these is a forehead that juts out and has a crease in the middle. The face also sports a spear-like proboscis.

Alien Mosquitoids are one of the three races of insectoid aliens in the Planet Selva Galaxy. Their race is one of three main antagonist species in the theme and their plan is to turn each planet into a hive, eliminating all human civilisations and life. They use cocoons as capture pods, which appear in most Galaxy Squad sets.

LEGO Quest & Collect gives the Mosquitoid a completely different backstory, claiming that he was once an ordinary mosquito that was transformed by the Mad Creator. This is most likely not considered part of the official canon for the Galaxy Squad theme.

  • The Mosquitoid's wings are the same as Beetle's.

LEGO Description This is a description taken from LEGO Quest & Collect. Do not modify it.

NAME: Mosquitoid
Once an ordinary, humble mosquito happy to fly around, Mosquitoid was transformed into an insect man after the Mad Creator corrupted the forest that was his home. Though he is larger and more powerful now, Mosquitoid misses the days when he was a tiny insect who travelled around unnoticed.
