Anatares is a Martian minifigure from the Life on Mars theme released in 2001.
Description[]
Antares uses the standard Martian build, with white torso and legs and bright bluish green arms and head. His head is printed with eyes and drooping eyelids, small freckles, and what appears to be a cybernetic augment on his forehead.
In Самоделки comics and Adventures in LEGO World: Mars Madness, Antares is erroneously represented with Pollux's minifigure (however, Силы Природы features the correct minifigure for Antares). In 5784 Soccer Mania, Antares's name and white clothing are assigned to a minifigure with Pollux's head, while Antares's head is assigned to a separate character with bright blue clothing called Guard.
Background[]
Antares is a Martian doctor and inventor responsible for designing the Aero Tube Hangar. He dislikes Martian Flu Season and gets furious when his inventions fail. His favorite food is vegetable cubes and his favorite color is white.
In Тайна Красной Планеты (Mystery of the Red Planet), Antares is one of the first Martians who meet the astronauts. He explains that the Martians use energy fields that generate a breathable atmosphere, allowing the astronauts to survive on Mars even without their helmets. In Робот Против Робота (Robot Versus Robot), Antares introduces the astronauts to the Aero Tube Hangar, biodium, and the Martians' mechs. Antares and Mac pilot the Red Planet Protector to rescue BB and Cassiopeia when they lose control of their Recon-Mech RP. In Силы Природы (Forces of Nature), Antares and Vega are piloting the Recon-Mech RP when they see an incoming meteor shower, and they rush back to base to inform Riegel and the astronauts. Antares and Mac pilot the Recon-Mech RP to set up a force field to protect the base.
In Adventures in LEGO World: Mars Madness, Antares and Mizar team up to search for missing Biodium, which was stolen by rebellious canyon Martians. They are caught in a dust storm, and Antares finds Mizar down a deep hole where they discover the canyon Martians guarding the Biodium and Solar Explorer.[1] They are rescued by other Martians, and their intel helps the astronauts retrieve the Solar Explorer.[2][3]
Antares appears in the video game LEGO Racers 2, standing at a Martian base wrecked by an earthquake. He tells the player that the Martians keep an energy store, hinting at the location of a Golden Brick.
In 5784 Soccer Mania, Guard is part of the Martians soccer team, which challenges the player's team during their pursuit of the Brickster. Guard's stats (out of a maximum of 272) are 240 speed, 256 shooting, 256 passing, 240 tackling, and 48 goalkeeping.[4]

Notes[]
- According to Search for the Solar Explorer, Arcturus joined Mizar in the search for the Solar Explorer stolen by the canyon Martians.[2] However, this contradicts Arcturus's previous role in Bye Bye, Biodium which revealed him to be the canyon Martians' spy.[5] Since Time to Say Goodbye and Adventures in LEGO World: Mars Madness both refer to Antares as Mizar's partner instead,[3][1] it is likely that this was merely an error and that Antares is the correct Martian here.
