- He is the first Collectible Minifigure to have a Dark Nougat skin colour.
- In Brick Like Me, Apu's store, "Kwik-E-Mart", is renamed "Brik-E-Mart".
- Apu, Moe Szyslak, Carl Carlson, Snake Jailbird, Professor Frink, Comic Book Guy and Chief Wiggum were voiced by Hank Azaria. Azaria also voiced the older version of Milhouse Van Houten in the episode "Hardly Knocking".
