Art is a theme first introduced in 2020 that focuses on sets inspired by art, including LEGO recreations of real-world artworks.
Background[]
In 2020, LEGO officially discontinued the Expert subtheme of Creator, which was where they had released the various 18+ sets. Afterwards, Art was introduced as a mosaic art theme; LEGO has a history of mosaics, with various individual sets released before under various themes, however, Art was the first theme to be entirely mosaic-based. The theme later evolved beyond the mosaic concept and started using a broader range of LEGO elements in newer sets.
The range features a mix of original art and LEGO recreations of famous and well-known art pieces, including works by Andy Warhol, Vincent van Gogh and Leonardo da Vinci. A subtheme called The Fauna Collection - featuring sets inspired by animals - was introduced in 2024 with the Macaw Parrots set.
