Comics[]
Heinrich Zemo[]
Baron Heinrich Zemo, the 12th Baron of his dynasty, was a World War 2 villain who faced Captain America several times, and in one of their clashes, Zemo's experimental Adhesive X fell on his face, leaving his mask glued to his face, so Baron Zemo swore revenge on Cap.
Heinrich was an evil scientist and a general in the Wehrmacht who attempted to send out the missile which ultimately resulted in Captain America and Bucky getting separated and frozen in the English channel. Following the World War, Zemo became a recluse and years later started a villain team known as "The Masters of Evil" which included the likes of the Enchantress, the Executioner, the Black Knight, Melter and Radioactive Man. The Baron eventually died in a final fight with Captain America where he tried firing a ray at the hero only to miss and hit a mountainside, causing an avalanche which crushed him to death.
Helmut Zemo[]
Baron Helmut Zemo was the son of Henrich Zemo and the 13th Baron in their dynasty, having been raised by his father to believe that the Zemo Lineage was the greatest of all humanity and that they alone deserved to rule the world. Helmut went on to become an engineer and a strategist but took a calling for super-villainy after he learned that his father had supposedly died at the hands of Captain America.
Helmut recreated his father's Adhesive X formula and tried to use it to get vengeance on Captain America only to fall into the vat himself and get horrible disfigured as a result. Following this Helmut became obsessed with defeating the Captain and assumed his father's alias of Baron Zemo, becoming a high-ranking member of HYDRA and the leader of a new incarnation of the Masters of Evil which was designed to be much larger than the Avengers.
