Sir Percy of Scandia is the Black Knight of 6th Century A.D. He was a member of King Arthur's court, and was the original wielder of the Ebony Blade. To disguise his identity, he feigned foolishness so that no one would associate the bumbling Sir Percy with the dedicated and serious Black Knight.
Centuries later, his descendant Nathan Garrett took on the mantle of Black Knight to become a supervillain, despite not being worthy of wielding the Ebony Blade. After his death, his nephew Dane Whitman took on the mantle to become a hero, proving himself worthy of using Sir Percy's sword.
- Upon respawning after death in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, Percy confidently says "'Tis but a scratch!". This is a reference to the cult classic film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, in which the knights of King Arthur's court battle against a Black Knight, who stands proudly even despite his arms being cut off.
