Blacktron Mutant is a Minifigures Series 26 minifigure introduced in 2024.
Description[]
The Blacktron Mutant wears an updated Blacktron Future Generation uniform with a white torso and left leg and a black left arm, glove, and hip. His torso is printed with the Future Generation logo on the front, while the back features spacesuit details and a symbol originally seen on one of the Alien Commander's badges. In contrast, his right limbs are bright yellowish green: he has a digitigrade leg printed with scales and claws, and two conjoined right arms. His face is likewise printed so that the left side resembles a regular minifigure smirking face and the right side has bright yellowish green skin, a red eye, and a fang. He has a black respirator worn as a neckpiece, and his hair is a black buzzed mohawk.
Background[]
The Blacktron Mutant is a Blacktron Future Generation Astronaut who has been partially mutated, resulting in a deformed leg and an extra arm. Rather than being hindered by his transformation, he willingly uses it to his advantage as he can now wield more guns.
Appearances[]
Behind the Scenes[]
According to an interview with creative lead Esa Petteri Nousiainen and graphics designer Tore Magelund Harmark-Alexandersen, the Blacktron Mutant was combined from two ideas for Series 26 minifigures: a mutant and an updated Blacktron minifigure. The connection was established since mutants and Blacktron minifigures both tended to be villains. As with the M-Tron Powerlifter, combining these concepts allowed the designers to "break" the silhouette of the Blacktron Future Generation Astronaut and make this update more unique. The bright yellowish green skin was a reference to the retired transparent fluorescent green of the original minifigure. The Blacktron Mutant's smirk and the Alien Commander symbol on his uniform are meant to imply that this Blacktron astronaut willingly mutated himself using alien technology from Alien Conquest.[1]
Notes[]
- This is the first ever standard minifigure to have three arms, due to having one normal arm and one pair of conjoined arms (repurposing the mold originally created for Rio Durant).
