Bologna Roni is a LEGO Island character introduced in 1997.

Description[]

Bologna Roni has sunglasses and stubble, sharing his face with other characters like Nubby Stevens and Scruffy Sam. He has black Mini Wig Man; his hair is placed unusually high on his head, giving him a particularly large forehead. As seen in 5777 LEGO Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge, Bologna Roni wears a blue vest over a light-blue shirt and blue pants.

Background[]

LEGO Island[]

Bologna Roni first appears in the manual for 5731 LEGO Island. He is the son of Mac and Sandy Roni, and he is the father of Pepper Roni. He is said to be the greatest explorer (or the best storyteller) that ever visited LEGO Island. It states he disappeared one day and left behind Pepper, who was adopted by Papa Brickolini and Mama Brickolini.

LEGO Island 2[]

In the Game Boy Color version, he can be found on a small island in the Phanta Sea near Adventurers' Island. If Pepper brings him a shovel, he will dig up a trading card.

In the PC version, his picture can be found on the wall of Pepper's house.

Behind the Scenes[]

LEGO Adventurers[]

In LEGO Adventurers, Pepper would have been on a quest to find his lost father in the City of OGEL, however he was known as Papa "Rootin-Tootin" Roni,[1] conflating Bologna Roni with another one of Pepper's relatives.

LEGO Island 2[]

Early documents for LEGO Island 2 suggest that the Old Fisherman is actually Pepper's father.[2] In the final game, the Old Fisherman calls Pepper "Sonny" and Pepper calls the fisherman "Pops", likely a remnant of these early plans. Although Bologna Roni does appear near Adventurers' Island in the Game Boy Color version, this version does not feature the Old Fisherman.

Island Xtreme Stunts[]

In the original plans for LEGO Island 3[3] from before it was based on the Island Xtreme Stunts theme, Bologna Roni had set off on a journey to discover the treasures of Marco Polo fifteen years before the game, leaving Pepper behind.
