Minifigure Wiki (Renomination)

We now have a rulebook to deal vith vandalism, and getting started on the wiki. We have also set up temlates for most of the pages and themes. We also CANCELLED all adminship contests due to this. Ther is also no "Takebobafett's quiz" on our front page.We do abide by wikia's terms and conditions. We have improved much in the past months. We have unlocked our mainpage. We hope being a friend of brickipedia will help us to grow more popular like all the other wikis.   4. Alright, I'll make this short and simple. This wiki does not fit into the ideology that we have here at Brickipedia; for one thing, all editors are given admin/crat rights without needing to earn them. Second of all, 32 articles is generally not enough to be an official friend of a wiki with around 7,800. The BrickPost has always been considered a kinda friend or whatever of Brickipedia, (with all the user talk notifications and the fact that most of audience and Featured posts are from here), but I was thinking, with the move of Wikia, we are hoping to expand massively and wondered if it'd be worth making the friendship official..     I like the idea, however there are a few flaws with that.. A few things I dislike with external links (and there for would like an interwiki for) that pages with more a line break in the title have to have an underscore in the template, which means the template wouldn't break lines, and also the external link CSS.. Not an actual proposal for another friend

I was wondering if we'd be able to make a small change to the official friends section on the main page. Instead of listing Legopedia there, I was thinking that we could have a section below the official friends called something like "LEGO Wikis in other languages", and have the 4 wikis we have language links with listed there. The French and Japanese wikis there have been inactive almost immediately after their adoption/creation, and could probably do with some notability, at least until they get at least one regular user. We could have all the storyline information about BIONICLE here too - still there is Biosector01. I actually like the wiki how it is now, the articles are still a bit short but that's because there isn't very much information released yet. It looks good when using the new wikia style, but the MonoBook users still have the white and blue/grey default colours, that could be changed. Neutral on that wiki, but the development looks good. Problem is, the theme is still quite new and there isn't much information known. Hard to tell. BIONICLE gets much storyline information via the stories that Greg Farshtey writes and which are published on Bioniclestory.com. Hero Factory doesn't have such a thing (yet). And Hero Factory is built up differently than BIONICLE, it can have thousands of stories and characters, where BIONICLE has to stick to their storyline. That could mean there will be more or there will be less storyline information for Hero Factory. And it also depends on the reactions of the consumers, which buy the sets - if they aren't bought LEGO probably won't continue the theme. We are still in the first year of Hero Factory, I reckon there will be hopefully more information available in the next two to three years. The amount of information also depends on how good here is a research about Hero Factory, so editors can help there too.  Samdo994 talk contribs  15:21, December 30, 2010 (UTC)

@BF2: I don't really know if it does on this wiki, but Fanon usually means that the figure isn't actually built, it's an idea only, and the Custom wiki covers MOCs or other such things which actually exist. But anyway, I just previewed it in Oasis- have a look at the "featured story" section on the right-hand side- the text runs out of the box, and the line after doesn't make sense. LEGO Message Boards Wiki

In the past there have been tons of users from both wikis that have hated the other wiki. I think if the two wikis became friends, it would help show that we're over that, and that we're not totally immature. ('Cuz it's pretty immature to hate someone because they use tongue smileys) BTW, if anyone thinks we're a dictatorship, then don't. Last night an idea passed that will change that, and it should be going into affect anytime now. (I just thought I should say that :P)

These days, the site seems to mainly consist of IP's submitted spam and unrelated questions. It isn't maintained by anyone, and it just isn't up to a decent standard anymore. I just don't think we should be affiliated with such a site anymore, especially by having a huge template at the bottom of our main page as well.

Hi! I like photos and lego. So, I was taking pictures 20,000 or more from last year. It's requird 200 photos each model for seamless VR-Effect. The BrickFile will be considered virtual preview of product(lego) and I would like to share virtual experiences with a lot of a people from here.

Support - I can't think of any other sites that have 360 degree spins of LEGO sets, plus all those great pictures. The only criticisms I have is that it should be better organized and, of course, more sets should be added! But anyway I think our users would find this site useful. Support, but you should be very careful about copyright issues. LEGO holds all intellectual property rights, so you can not claim that they are your work, or hold any copyright over them as the site suggests. ajr 19:06, March 16, 2012 (UTC)
  • Support- it shows users something that we couldn't really effectively do on the wiki. @NXT- not sure how we'd embed it, I think it's Flash-based and we can't do that. Also, I think it'd be a good idea to give users the option if they want to see it or not, due to them being (I think) fairly large files. Brick Rumors

Brick Rumors is a website that is dedicated to LEGO News. We do not have forums, etc. just LEGO news. Why? Being focused on LEGO news gives the site the opportunity to give the reader the best and updated LEGO news daily. Unlike Brickset and FBTB, we constantly update our news resource daily (I know they update their news resource daily also, but some are old plain news..... -_-). I am not posting this as an advertisement, please do not think that. I already caught the attention of Brickset and other sorts of media already, in four days (I don't know how I got so popular on Google in just four days :3) @NHL There is a major difference between journalism, and amatuer forums. First of all, journalism sites have authors which post the news. Forums, on the other hand, have have users which contribute to, bringing thier biasness and pointless speculation to the table. About 95% of our LEGO news comes from news related sites- not much from forums. What if the NY Times was a forum? (It'd be like Digg -_-) And... You would have: sourceless news. Hello, my name Jeff and I am the programmer and co-creator of the LEGO resource site www.brickpicker.com. A little while ago, I contacted a few admins and got a response from King of Nynrah, who asked me to post on this forum for you to consider. Before I posted on here, I wanted to get some more work done on the site.

Our website deals specifically with the collecting and if you want to call it, investing side of LEGO sets. Our goal is to try and educate LEGO fans with solid information on what the current value of a LEGO set is. Over and over again you will see questions in forums like "how much is this set worth, or what should I sell these sets for." We have a paid license (too much $$$) to get the sales data from eBay and we aggregate that data on a monthly basis. We have also launched a tool that will allow you to import your collection from brickset or other sites like rebrickable.com. It will show you the value of your collection, breakdown of various themes, sets etc. In the next week a few more tools will show up comparing sets, a bulk set estimator, etc. So there are tools here that are not on other sites and data that can't be found on other sites.

Feedback from our users has been fantastic and growth has been steadily climbing. I am asking if there is a way our site can be included in your list of external links along with brickset, peeron, etc. I am not sure if you can build something into the template that will automatically populate the set data to link the site. We follow the same set name convention as brickset. So to view a set, it would just be: http://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/set.cfm?set=10179-1. The set number would just need to be replaced at the end of the link.

I feel this our site would be a great asset to your site and to help LEGO fans educate themselves about the cost of sets (retired ones especially). There are too many listings on eBay and Bricklink that are basically extortion.
