Bug has now been an active user on this wiki for nearly two years, and he's quickly gained a lot of maturity during this time. He's a very active chat moderator, forum member, and blog user. He would be a great help with keeping away spam, making sure everything is going smoothly, and that everyone is following our policies. Drewlzoo 20:58, February 6, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the nomination, Drew and hello to anyone reading this.
As stated above, I am an extremely active user who has been here for almost two years. I'm not the most avid editor to the wiki, but I tend to pace myself and look for information that is definitely needed and not excess. Sure, I may not be the best editor but I am extremely involved with the community and I'd be willing to partake in nearly anything if it meant the satisfaction of my fellow Brickipedians, whom I consider friends. My involvement with the wiki is key and my lack of edits may be an issue, but do recall that I know how things work.
Being a moderator and patroller has confronted me with plenty of issues over the course of time I've had the rights; Spammers and vandals are nothing new to me, I've confronted them numerous times. I might not be the first to find an issue on a page, but that doesn't mean I won't take action if I do.
My main issue is my mentality, I feel like the rights should come to me, not the other way around. If this nomination fails, I'll just wait for the day that I need the rights for the sake of the wiki. If this nomination does pass, then I will definitely use the rights to the wiki's advantage rather than my own and I'll be ready for any forthcoming issues as well as unforeseen ones.
Lastly, I'd like to thank all of you that have helped me get this far, I never imagined I'd actually be partaking in a nomination for administrative rights. Please feel free to leave an oppose or support, either way it is for the greater good of the wiki. Kind regards to all of you, - 1999bug - Contributions - Talk page

  2. A large amount of what an admin does is in the mainspace, and I'd want any user who could potentially be deleting content to know what good content is in the first place. Adminship definitely shouldn't be a reward for content work, but I'd like to see a broad understanding of Brickipedia before. As a side note for RfAs right now in general, what we will need on the new site is content creators, not admins. And what we could really use right now is someone or some people starting a centralized revamp of our policies - that isn't something that I'm going to start. Ajraddatz (Talk) 22:08, February 6, 2013 (UTC)
    • Why does a user need to have multiple MS edits to get admin? I mean yes it is pretty important but not all important. Plus he wouldn't go around deleting stuff. I'm assuming he knows what's the difference from a good page and a bad page. He's been here forever.

Darth henry The Dojo Turtles! 03:12, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

      • A user certainly doesn't need mainspace edits to become an admin, but when seeking a role which is primarily content control, I'd like to see lots of relevant experience. BrikkyyTalk Extras!

    • I'm sorry if this is too much to ask, but I think this oppose should be struck or at least changed. There was only one userbox and it only existed because I failed to notice it when transferring older userboxes onto my page. I willingly removed the userbox without even questioning you, so please don't act like I intended to offend you. It wasn't exactly inappropriate, either. The other opposes I respect, but this isn't a very valid reason for opposition. - Bug
      • Valid point. Struck.

Jeyo Lord VladekTalk The Forge 21:00, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

        • Unstruck - it is an incredibly nit-picky point, but it isn't an all-out attack or harassment or something which I would consider a valid reason to completely discredit and remove it. When closing this request, I (or another bureaucrat) am not going to consider it the difference between passing or not. Ajraddatz (Talk) 23:58, February 10, 2013 (UTC)
          • Re-struck (2 against 1 :P we should have a vote about a vote :D) Out of the hundreds (possibly thousands) of views on Bug's page durng the 18 months he had the userbox up, one single person was offended by it. And he wasn't "made" to remove it, he was asked to, and he did so, just because that one person was offended by it. The userbox wasn't racist/defamatory/some sort of personal attack in any way, so how is it a valid reason to oppose? NightblazeSaber 01:48, February 11, 2013 (UTC)
            • Just to clarify, I wasn't acting like you intended to offend you, I'm just saying an admin shouldn't have had to be asked to remove that, or even have that up there in the first place... --Brikkyy13 (talk) 07:03, February 19, 2013 (UTC)
            • Fair enough. I never like striking votes, though... and honestly, if we strike oppose votes like that, we should be striking all of the support votes too since they make no mention of what exactly would make him a good admin :P. Since Jeyo joined, he instantaneously became a great contributor to the wiki. He has nearly 4000 edits, he has and uses chat moderator rights responsibly. He is a great example to everyone he meets. He was CoTM in August, followed by BoTM in September. He edits constantly, every day. One of his last badges was "contribute to the wiki every day of 100 days".

Drew1200 has a load of mainspace edits, coding prow-ess and quite possibly the newest admin. A trusted user at LMBWM, and devoted editor to Wikia, and knows his way around coding, I'd be happy to give him sysop rights. Drew's Statement:
Since I became active again in January 2011, I’ve learned a lot from this place. It’s helped me to get a lot of self control, especially when I can’t control a situation, which I believe causes an increase in overall maturity. I’ve reverted over 165 cases of vandalism since I got rollback rights, and used my moderator rights well over a dozen times. In several of those cases, admin rights could have been used as well, so, I’m hoping to get them so I can simply have some more tools to fight bad guys that try to harm our wiki.

  • Neutral. I'd really like to support- yes, Jeyo hasn't been around for very long, but this user seems to make less mistakes than some users who have been around for a very long time, and seems to have caught on to the system here much quicker than most. The only thing holding me back from supporting is to do with the length of time- I'd just like to be certain that there's a good chance that Jeyo will be staying around for a while (which would be something that would seem more likely the longer they stay with us). Too many "admins" have disappeared right after getting adminship for me to not be a bit worried by that kind of thing for every nom. Agent Fuse (Talk - Contribs - Block/rights logs - Logs) - (9,334 edits, 5,947 mainspace) - (Back to user rights requests)

I have been on Brickipedia for nearly three years now. I have seen good editors come and go, and some bad ones as well. I dislike vandalism, and when I see it I revert it. So now (for the first time since February 2011) I am requesting adminship on our wiki.

I read through the checklist and this is what it said. Have you been on Brickipedia for more than a few months, and made a few thousand contributions to articles here? Yes, I have. I have been here for almost three years (as I stated above) and I have made over eight thousand edits since I joined. Do you regularly participate on the forums? Uh…sort of. I have said some things on the forums recently, but I'm more of an editing person than a talking person on Brickipedia. Do you revert vandalism when you see it, or tag pages for deletion? Yes I do. I have reverted/deleted/rollbacked/removed over one hundred cases of vandalism, including tracking down at least one vandal spree. I also tag pages for deletion when I think they aren't needed, and if I don't know what to do, I ask. Are you bothered? I am bothered when I see pages with missing punctuation incorectly spelled wurds and small fixes needed. Yes. I am bothered. (Yes I know I'm breaking grammatical rules in this answer!)

So what do you think? Do I deserve the rights or not? (Don't answer that.) Though I would like you to all approve of my request, I hope you realise that I won't hold anything against you if you decide to oppose.

Agent Fuse Talk 9,334 Edits! Grammatic Fanatic 08:44, August 13, 2012 (UTC)

    • If that is the case, its not so much a problem, its just we've had users who have been inactive, came back, request admin, we all go "I remember you, have admin", then they leave again. So, I'd support on a condition that if you go properly inactive within a few months of the request (not just like on holiday or what not), then you are fine with it possibly being removed. ~ CJC 09:25, August 13, 2012 (UTC)
      • Per the above, I'd go neutral for several reasons; I don't know the user that well, very semi-active and doesn't have too much need for the tools. I won't oppose him simply because this is an experienced user who not only hasn't ever done anything wrong, but also has made a fair amount of contributions made overtime. -

I personally understand that time may be an issue, but being an administrator is a commitment. If you really don't have the time for it, I don't know if you would be right for the position. Munchman14
@CJC: I would agree to that proposal. @Munchman: It's not my choice to have that amount of time. My parents decided on it, and while I sometimes earn more, I think it is sufficient to keep up a good amount of edits. I had been using the time working on several LDD models, mostly the entry in the monthly MOC competition.

  • So this is ending today. As Cligra requested, I increased the amount of activity. CJC, Klagoer, Darth Henry and Munchman14, you said the same thing as Cligra. What do you think? Have I been active enough?

This time probably isn't a good time to request adminship, as everyone would have been competing in the Olympics and Celebration VI and wouldn't have time to look at this. But if you do, please say something. Something that I can do to make you support. {:) Agent Fuse Talk 9,334 Edits! Grammatic Fanatic 08:43, August 25, 2012 (UTC)

What I mean is you had zero edits between May 31 and June 9, and then from June 9-26. It looks like you said you'd be away on your userpage, which is completely fine of course, it's just that Mykheh was a away for a few weeks, then came back, lodged a successful request, then was never heard of again, and GG360 did something similar. I'm not saying at all you're doing the same thing, I'm just fed up with users turning up, getting their admin rights then fading out into the sunset. Basically, I'd rather see a more consistent run leading up to your request, but this is definitely only a very minor reason for opposing (despite the large amount of text I just wrote :/) NightblazeSaber 07:13, June 30, 2012 (UTC)

Right well here goes... I have been on here for about one and a half years now, I'm very active, I have 18,747 edits and the number just goes up, I'm very experienced here, I know the rules, I know how to correctly use admin rights from the help of the various wiki's I have made, Blocking should be used as a last resort and you should always warn users if they do something wrong, deleting should only be used for deleting spam or inappropriate pages (we do get quite a bit of these), I know people will oppose because of the incidences that have happened in the past involving me but I think I have matured since then.Clone gunner commander jedi talk

Darth henry has been here a long time, and has matured considerably. He can definitely be trusted with the tools, and we are in dire need of more active admins. The addition of the tools would be of great benefit to him, and he certainly has the potential to take over the world do good for the wiki with the abilities these rights would give him.
What Dh has to say:
I feel I have been here for a good bit and learned the ropes per say. I am confident I would not overstep my boundaries and would ask other admins before doing anything big. My personality would not change if this nomination passes, I would just become a bit more careful. My activity will just increase with these rights. Since my last nom I have realized that these rights don't make admins better than everyone else but instead are a tool box.

I've been here for a while now, I've grown old, and possessed many new talents on Bricki, and made many new friends. I've requested adminship because I'm very active, I do need to use the tools to delete, block users, close forums, give rights to respected users and so forth. I have good credentials, BoTM, CoTM, chat mod, patroller and rollbacker, aswell as a forum moderator. I've been told often by users that I'm very mature, and good at solving problems. I've changed a heck load since I joined, and I have learnt the ways of the wiki, and we are in need of more active admins, and I haven't missed a day for quite a long time. I hope you consider me as admin material. I have over 7,000 edits here, and I'm quite unhappy to say however, it doesn't include much mainspace, But I'm working on getting to my goal of 3,000 mainspace. Thanks - Czech

Agent Charge

I spend most of the time I can helping make Brickipedia a better place. I am active regularly. I have never attacked another user, am friendly, and have only ever received one or two warning, which was/were over two years ago for the same thing, though I didn't know at that time that what I was doing was wrong, and when I was told, I stopped. I have never received one since. I revert vandalism every time I see it, and tag pages for deletion when needed. I regularly participate on forums, and I help other users when they need it. I am very frustrated a lot that I can't edit pages due to my user rights as a Brickipedian. This has happened so many times that I've loss count of them, but just to give a brief idea, it's been many thousands of times. In feel that I would make a great administrator on Brickipedia. 1. A relatively "quiet" user on the wiki, not that that's a necessarily bad thing. I do think a bit more participation in forums might be nice as per Cligra, and also per Cligra I have noticed longer periods of not editing. But, as Charge is a long-time user who's never none anything dodgy and made over 5000 edits to the mainspace, I think he can do with these tools. NightblazeSaber 07:19, May 10, 2012 (UTC)
  2. I agree with NBS. I would also like to see more forum contributions, but this user could use the tools for editing protected pages if nothing else. I spend a lot of time on Brickipedia, and countless times, I see vandal pages I can't delete due to my rank. I have never received any warnings, and I am an honest and trustworthy user. I have never attacked another user, and spend a lot of time patrolling articles, blogs, and forums. I think I would make a good administrator.

CzechMate

The following section is preserved as an archive. Please do not modify it. The result was unsuccessful

Lately, CzechMate has made some good contribution to the wiki such as article, chat, forums, etc. He knows his way around and understands how to use the wiki well. I'm certain with how much experience and knowledge he has he can make a great Admin. I understand some users have had some disagreements and difficulty getting along Czechmate at times, but we can all say generally Czechmate is a friendly and dedicated user. So despite some minor mistakes, I think CzechMate is good enough to be an Administrator, I hope you all agree with me.

CzechMate's Statement: I'm moslty wanting the rights just because I get the ability to delete, redirect, block users when needed, and for changing Wiki Look. I understand how the rights work and understand the maturity needed. My credentials are pretty good, I have Patroller, Rollback and ChatMod rights, I am BOTM, Almost 70 Barnstars (But half of them are SPAM). I am on everyday, The last time I missed a day was early August. If I ever go inactive, I'd be happy to get my sysop flag removed. To put a stupid line: All Users say this but; I think I can benefit this wiki with extra tools. I'd just like to say thanks for all your support and stuff :P Czech

  • Yeah, after you PM'ed him pressuring him into changing his vote to support. According to him, at that point he told you you were canvassing, so then you annoyed him about changing it to neutral instead. Honestly, the underhanded things you've done in relation to this nom... advertising the page every five minutes in chats, users conveniently receiving gold bricks minutes after they vote for you, and I'm sure there hasn't been any other additional canvassing and deals going on in other PMs. It's amazing how users who haven't made a single edit to the wiki can suddenly decide to make their first edit, and it's on an admin nomination. How people think that this user has desirable admin qualities is way beyond me. NightblazeSaber 00:07, April 13, 2012 (UTC)
    • What had happened was: I was talking to Tat, I asked him, with no pressure why he opposed. I did a small joke, and said that. The XOfSpades guy I've talked to before, He asked me where this nom was, I linked him to it. I didn't ask him to vote, he just wanted to see the page. The fact you are accusing me makes me feel bad. I know not to canvass. The Gold Brick was for the fact I've talked to him before on chat, he is a nice guy, if you think I'm bribing users, you are obviously making false accusations. --Czech 00:18, April 13, 2012 (UTC)
      • Well, I was just going on what Tat said, and you've got to admit it's pretty suspicious giving a barnstar to someone immediately after they vote for you. But I apologize if any of the above is untrue, obviously I can't see private messages and it's pretty rare I check chatlogs unless something comes up on the wiki itself, so I can only draw conclusions from what I can see. Without the complete picture, there is definitely room for error. NightblazeSaber 01:27, April 13, 2012 (UTC)

  • Question for the candidate - What do you think blocks and bans are for, and why they're important? FB100Ztalkcontribs 06:14, April 6, 2012 (UTC)
    • Answer Blocks are for repeating bad behaviour/not stopping something bad. It is a penalty for a users not behaving over a computer screen. (these questions remind me of my first request for admin) --Czech 06:15, April 6, 2012 (UTC)
      • If blocks are a penalty, how can they not be punitive? FB100Ztalkcontribs 06:22, April 6, 2012 (UTC)
        • A blocked user may have certain privileges taken off, such as the ability to edit pages or talk with other users, or they may be completely unable to access the service in question. Blocks can apply to individual user or ranges of IP's In most cases, individual services and websites set their own blocking policies, and a block issued by one will not apply on any others. How can it not be Punitive: Blocks are only meant to restrict the user's access to an online website or chatting system for the better of that service. They are not meant to be punitive in any way, but to protect the welfare of the service. They are necessary actions which need to take place under certain situations. --Czech 06:30, April 6, 2012 (UTC)

  1. Not ready for admin yet (More of a 'summary' than a reason)
  2. Don't need more admins (Struck by me (Jag) - not an valid reason for oppose.)
  3. Ability to judge where blocks and warnings are appropriate + Taking blocking to an extreme
  4. Maturity
  5. Untrustworthy

The main points I can see in favour of CzechMate are Skd's ones, namely, that he is truthful, happy, and stands his ground. However, the oppose points seem to overweigh the supports.

I am expressing my judgement here as an admin, and what I would do as a bureaucrat. I am not closing, this, as I am not a b'crat, but just leaving it here for the closing b'crat to look at, and use as a reference. Jag 23:24, April 18, 2012 (UTC)

When I withdrew my nomination last year, it was because I would not have have been able to keep what I stated due to me going inactive. Who would withdraw a nomination with 8 supporters and 0 opposers? A user that can be trusted to keep his word- me. To date, I have reverted countless edits, requested the blocking of countless accounts, and have tagged countless articles with the Speedy Delete tag. I could have blocked those users and deleted those pages myself. I was not able to do this because of the lack of the neccessary tools- tools that Administrators have. Ask anyone who knows me here- they know that I am a trusted user. As I said in my previous nomination:

"Now, with the added rights, I will help improve the wiki a great deal (I know nominees say this, but I do mean this)."

I do plan to accomplish this task. •myk 01:03, March 3, 2012 (UTC)

This move allows me to fully support him - he was a great candidate for adminship before, and he clearly understands that the sysop tools are for people who need them. If he says that he needs them, I trust him to not go inactive again. Actually, I think that this could all be cleared up if he agrees to remove his sysop flag when he goes inactive again if it's within six months. That agreement would pretty much solve any issues with us just getting another inactive admin. ajr 04:50, March 3, 2012 (UTC)

Elaboration

The time I had as an administrator last year was a very great experience for me, as I felt as if I was helping our wiki even more than I was when I didn't have the extra tools. I was blocking the vandals, deleting pointless pages, and other admin stuff. It was a great time, until the end of the year... That's when my rights was removed. Most of you know I was acting a bit strange, and I wasn't the same Tatooine you all knew me as... But during the time I left LEGO wiki (a few months), I had time to think about why everyone seemed to vote to remove my rights. I have to admit, one of Ajr's last comments on my rant blogs really changed my whole outlook on my attitude in both real and cyber-life. He told me to stop acting like a d... and something else. (I only remember that part because when I see that stuff I get stirred up ;) I then realized it was me who was the problem, and I need to to apologize to the people I hurt (Ajr and NBP in particular) After I did, everything seemed to be just fine, and it was. Also, it was just a few months ago I was re-nominated for admin, but it was closed being "not done" - why? This is what I'd like to talk about a lot in this text wall. Your future isn't set in stone- what you do in the past, does not have to define what you will do in the future. No one knows for certain what the future holds. I remember when some of our new admins first joined. What if I judged you for the mistakes you made when you first joined, and used that against you in YOUR RfA back then? Would you see that it is fair? I feel that I can help brickipedia more than what I am doing right now with Sysop rights. I know I haven't been active a lot lately, but I swear, I attempt to edit with the spare time I have left in the day. Whether it'd be in lunch break between classes, or at 2:00 in the morning before I turn in. I always try to make sure no one is vandalizing, or things of that nature. And with my admin rights, I will use my extra tools to better the wiki. Thanks for reading. Skdhjf(Talk!) 22:24, March 1, 2012 (UTC)

Update

For those opposing me for a reason in which I did in the past (to the two people who oppose me for: "the chat mod incident", fake threats to rename pages) look at the bigger picture here- those are personal things you're holding against me. Are you hear at 11:30 PM (and I was tired, and I had a long day) tagging 70 Advertisement images for speedy deletion while the bot/user keeps going, and an admin deletes them hours later? Let's say for the sake of a point those 70 images were not appropriate, and they stayed on this wiki for how many HOURS!? Think of how many children would've had to view them... Or are you here editing early in the morning reverting some vandal's edits? Or editing within open time slots in your schedule when you're extremely busy? Are you? The last one may be easy to answer, but really, please think about it...

I really think i should be a Admin because i can ban some Vandalists when they will not stop and protect pages which need to be. and i also work hard on the wiki when important stuff come out like when i put all the pictures on:

9516 Jabba's Palace

I also do a bit of work whenever i can find info or Pictures that need to be added.

DH here, I was wondering if I would be given sysop rights. I have 8,000 plus edits, have had rollback and patroller since a good while ago. I have also recently recieved chat mod rights ( I had them before chat was disabled also). I am nice to the users of wikia (the sincere ones, not the vandals). Also, the "however if you want to give me the rights..." part turns me off; administrator tools are a very serious matter, and shouldn't be taken lightly. Skdhjf(Talk!) 02:07, February 8, 2012 (UTC)
  • Per Tat. Sorry, EDIT: I'm not sure. You edit mainspace but not many forums, You have problems with a few users here. Czech

  • Per Tat, someone who seems to insist on messing up the entire structure of our reviews namespace despite several warnings seems to lack the required maturity for this right. NightblazeSaber 03:28, February 8, 2012 (UTC)
    • That could and should be forgiven, I know you put alot of effort into Brickipedia but, It's not THAT serious. --Czech 06:25, February 8, 2012 (UTC)
  • You have made leaps and bounds since you were first here, but I still have concerns with maturity. ajr 05:09, February 8, 2012 (UTC)
  • User has improved a lot, but still needs to progress before being capable of handling sysop rights. -Konicle2 10:43, February 8, 2012 (UTC)

  • An administrator should be completely neutral. You need to work on that. -Cligra Join the redlink war!
    • That's an exaggeration. No human can have knowledge about a topic and be neutral about it. FB100Ztalkcontribs 01:07, February 9, 2012 (UTC)

  • Oppose - A little comment to everyone: DH has nominated himself so he can get feedback on how to be a better user; the "per above" comments aren't helping. At any rate, you're a very good editor, and I, as a fellow WikiGnome, commend you for your tireless contributions. However, there are a few things you could do to improve your editor awesomeness:
    • You have a history of some animosity against other users. I understand that you've made amends, but time is only good way to shake that off.
    • You've gotten some flak for making null edits. Null edits do have uses, such as to leave messages in the edit summary, but make it clear what they are; badge scumming is a nasty thing to be accused of.
    • Grammar and spelling. Brickipedians are all writers. Getting all the technical stuff down can be difficult, but your fellow editors will respect you more if you brush up on them. FB100Ztalkcontribs 01:07, February 9, 2012 (UTC)
