Requests: Chat Moderator - Administrator - Bureaucrat - Rollback and Patroller

Shortcut:
BP:RfA

This is Brickipedia's requests for adminship page, on which any user may request administrator rights. Administrators have many technical abilities that are used for the maintenance and upkeep of Brickipedia, and a full list of all of the user rights that they have access to can be found at Special:ListGroupRights.

While being an administrator may seem "fun" or "cool", you should consider whether or not you actually have a use for sysop rights before filing a request. Administrators should be active users on Brickipedia with a few thousand contributions who have a good understanding of policies and community discussions here. While being an administrator is not a big deal, it is a significant time commitment, and takes a lot of work. If you are considering nominating yourself for adminship, please read through the checklist to make sure that you meet the criteria.

To file a request, place the following code under the "current requests" header, above any existing requests.

There is an archive here for adminship requests.

Requests made on this page are a vote, meaning that if they achieve at least 80% support then they will be closed as successful. Opposers must provide reasons for opposing. All request will last a minimum of two weeks.

If a user has been nominated for adminship before, add 2 to the end of the topic header. For users with multiple requests, add the respective number of the request. It is also considered good practice to link to previous requests for rights when nominating a user.

So, I've decided to make a request for adminship now. What exactly am I requesting? Primarily anti-vandalism tools. I am a patroller and rollbacker already, so I can revert vandalism when I see it, but I can't stop the vandals. And, when real life gets in the way or I want to do other things, the vandals can remain free. With administrator rights, I could block vandals (after giving them warnings, of course) and restore peace rather than filing a request to another administrator, which could take a while. I've also made lots of edits (last time I checked it was a little over 1400) and do my best to resolve issues between other users.

Also, if you go neutral or oppose, please tell me why. I can't make myself more ready for the rights without knowing what to improve.

  1. Absolutely. --LFY1547 19:49, November 24, 2013 (UTC)
  2. I see the issues raised below, and . ~ CJC 01:04, November 25, 2013 (UTC)
  3. Definitely..known this user for a long time, would fully trust him as admin. (Using my former account for my sig as this one has only 1 edit) -Klint
  4. Jay is a dedicated editor and will surely use these rights for the community's benefit. Also, per CJC, if I interpret him correctly. BrickfilmNut (talk) 01:51, November 25, 2013 (UTC)
  5. Certainly. Per BFN. --

  1. I support this! I think he could use the tools appropriately. Ajraddatz (Talk) 02:09, December 5, 2013 (UTC)

  1. I agree with Czech for the most part. You're a very good user, but at times it seems that you have an idea of having seniority rights. I also haven't observed an ideal amount of activity in the mainspace from you, but I could have overlooked it. --George (ToaMeiko) (talk) 21:37, November 24, 2013 (UTC)
  2. I'd like to see some more mainspace edits, but otherwise, I'm OK. -Legoboy 12:07, November 26, 2013 (UTC)
  3. Per above. Klagoer (talk)
  4. As of yet, I don't know the user well and I agree to the above with mainspace edits. -

Oppose

  1. Whilst he is a good contributor, the main thing putting me off is his attitude at times, sometimes being a "smarter-than-you" person, which can sometimes, to me at least, be rude at times. I would support, if he fixed that up, because otherwise, he is a good contributor. --Czech 21:30, November 24, 2013 (UTC)
  2. Per Czech. Other than that, he's an awesome friend, but I still think his attitude can be not that good. --Knight
  3. Per Czech. Some issues in the past (Nuff, I believe) and the attitude isn't the best. --- CM4S (talk) 01:14, December 5, 2013 (UTC)

Hi everyone, I believe I will be a great Admin for the following reasons. I am an active member who has been dedicated to this site for over a year, with around 4000 edits to articles. I am a Chat Moderator and a Rollback and Patroller. I also believe I provide the site with valuable edits and pages which contribute to Brickipedia's wide knowledge. I may not be online when most of you are, but I try to communicate as much as I can. Lastly, I am a very mature person who is friendly and behaves in chat. I appreciate your thoughts and comments.

  4. Was responsible on chat when I used to talk with him, and makes great edits. Besides, we need more admins, especially ones on at that time of day. BrickfilmNut (talk) 20:28, November 19, 2013 (UTC)
  5. He definitely edits consistently, beneficially and at a time when most don't, but isn't too active in forums/other URRs/community stuff (granted, neither am I these days...) But yes, per BFN. --

  • That's 'cause he's on at a time when you aren't; different timezones. But he creates a lot of pages, adds a lot of new images and and could certainly use the tools well. --

Jeyo Lord VladekTalk The Forge 06:35, November 20, 2013 (UTC) #Per above, but I do know you exist. :P --- CM4S (talk) 20:24, November 19, 2013 (UTC)

  • Striking the above votes. If you don't know the user, that's more or less your own fault. Look at their contributions to the wiki when making your vote, not how well you know them. At most make your vote a neutral. The fact that you haven't taken the time to meet this user who, by looking at their contributions, you really should know is not a reason to deny this user the opportunity to further engage and benefit the community and wiki by opposing their request for adminship due to your own ignorance and apathy. --George (ToaMeiko) (talk)

Comments

  • To the above opposes, look at his edit count. :P You shouldn't oppose just because you haven't seen him enough. That's really only grounds for a "neutral". BrickfilmNut (talk) 20:30, November 19, 2013 (UTC)
  • Look at mine and CM4S's combined. :3 --- CM4S (talk) 20:39, November 19, 2013 (UTC)
