Hello! As many of you should hopefully know, i'm Lavertus and I have decided to run for chatmod. I have been here for two years and have over 600 edits. I have been back on the wiki for a bit now (and this includes being on chat every night) and I know that I am going to remain this way for a long time. Therefore, I think that I would make a decent chat moderator and I only hope that you can agree too. I have put my name down for chat moderator as i beleive i would fit the role for the following reasons: I have recently become more active on the wiki and in chat. I have about 108 article edits and 511 in general since joining on 26.9.14. I always try my best to sit on the fence during arguements and come to an outcome that pleases both sides. All I've noticed is decreased activity, more "promises", and less beneficial contribution to the Brickipedia community. You always jump back up from major issues you have saying you've matured or whatever, but in all honesty, every time you've done that, you never improved one bit. Saying something doesn't make it true. From my observation, you haven't improved at all, nor have you given yourself time to improve. I honestly don't think you understand the responsibilities that chat moderator rights carry with them, and I don't think you're capable of holding such a responsibility. Seeing as in your past several apology blogs (all of which had promised that you improved and had matured, yet you continued on the same poor course after each blog) said that you would start editing, and I still have yet to see a consistent amount of effort put into the mainspace of Brickipedia, I don't really have the ability to take your word for anything. Before I can even think about trusting you with such responsibility at Brickipedia, I'd like to see consistent, honest effort put into both the encyclopedia and the community. None of this RPG or sigfig stuff is necessary, and is more of a distraction to yourself and others than it is a benefit. Consistency is a key characteristic of a responsible individual. Seeing as you go from "mature" to having blow-ups, and you make inconsistent contributions to the wiki, I don't think you're close to being responsible enough in my eyes. I understand that I'm barely over the minimum requirements, but I've watched this wiki for several months, and I only joined when I realised that anonymous contributing had been turned off. I then realised that a live chat was available to registered users, which I immediately joined, and have been active in every day since I joined. Since I had been on this wiki as an anonymous user for several months, I have a good understanding of the members of the community and the policies this wiki has set. I also think that if I were to be a chat moderator, it would add a nice diversity to the team of moderators, as I have been told that I would be the only AFOL on the chat moderator team (this is of course not counting the administrator team, though I have had some great conversations with them). Anyways, I figured I'd put up this request for the reasons I just listed. I hope that the community accepts and approves of this request, as I feel like my time and efforts being volunteered would positively impact the community. Cheers! Yep, and I have more than 760 mainspace edits, with quality enough to earn me patroller and rollback rights, and administrator at Wikianswers LEGO. This helps show my dedication towards the LEGO wikis and my means to make this chat a better place as well. Do you regularly participate responsibly on chat? Yep. I'm on most every day, help new users, and I don't spam. And even when I am angry (which doesn't happen a lot), I have lots of self-control. Do you already try your hardest to make chat a better place? Yes. I don't spam, I don't pick fights with people, I like to talk, and I don't really have any "enemies". :3 Now for some extra stuff. Despite some of the opposes I got, I'm not a spammer. In fact, I revert spam almost every day. I don't troll, either. :P Now, during the incident with Clone and CM4S I was pretty angry, but me and CM4S get along now and Clone doesn't really talk to me anymore. So, I don't hold grudges, which is a good thing for a ChatMod. I am always willing to help anyone who needs it, as I am knowledgeable with things relating to LEGO and Wikis. I think I'd do good in this position because; I'm trustable. I mean, I make good edits, I do good with Patroller, and I wrote that one good review, and I do it every day. So, what can go wrong with an extra responsibility on my hands? I'm familiar with the rights. When the Yoshi Wiki was really active, I gained sysop and moderated chat, so I got familiar with the chat mod stuff. I'm respected, and respectable. I cannot name one person who regularly goes to this wiki that openly dislikes me. And also, I cannot name one person that I really do not like (other than spammers, they bug me to pieces ._.). I'm a good community member. I'm used to the community, as I've been coming to this chat since December of 2011. I fit in well with the rest of the community, too. I've also never been blocked or banned from chat. I am also a large anti vandal, as I revert spam and vandalism within usually the first couple minutes of it being done. I'm active. Just ask Meiko or CM4S, I've been on chat nearly every day since Brickimedia's closure. Oh yeah, and here's a quote by Mr. Meiko: "If he improved some of his actions, he'd actually be fine. He's a knowledgeable user, understands how wikis work, and is able to identify the strong and weak points a wiki and its community has." But I might as well explain why Knight had these rights removed, to keep this nomination legitimate. A user (Whom I will be keeping anonymous, just in case.) was causing havoc and angering various users, which included Knight. Even I was being bothered by this user, on occasion. Although it continued, there wasn't much we could do as he wasn't personally attacking anyone directly or anything else ban-worthy. This was very confusing to us and it never ceased, simply dragging on. Knight, not realizing the jeopardy it would cause, spammed the user's wiki with hate messages. Admittedly, he told me and I never even considered the risk he was taking. I don't wish to be blamed, but do take in account that he told multiple people who could have easily stopped him. I would also like to point out that this message is known as "The World's Worst Insult" (Not as bad as it sounds.) a well-known internet meme, not something he came up with to directly insult the user. Although we are not supposed to take into account of users' actions on other wikis, the administrators thought this threat was a little much and somewhat ridiculous. I'm not trying to say their judgement was wrong, but maybe it would be better if it remains temporary and we let Knight regain his user rights. So, if you think Knight deserves these rights, go ahead and support. If you don't, feel absolutely free to oppose. Or just stay neutral. Whichever way you choose, please consider the above. As far as I know, I didn't leave out any major details that could change your decision. Knight supports this, but I am the one who is "nominating" him. You've brought up, and (almost) justified one of the two reasons everyone has opposed him before. However, you've completely ignored the second, which is, to the best of my knowledge, still relevant. I will lay it down thus: Knight has strong opinions. There's nothing wrong with this. The problem, however, arises whenever anybody happens to talk about something he doesn't like for one reason or another. (the two main offenders being "Kingdumbs" and "Minecrap".) While Knight is perfectly amicable most of the time, it is impossible for him to let other people's views on the subjects he dislikes (that is, the fact that other actually like them) lie unchallenged, and he will get into long and pointless arguments on the subject. For an example, see this blog. Incidentally, this other blog was posted relatively recently, but, to the best of my knowledge, he hasn't really stopped this habit much, although he does usually manage to be quiet when people speak on Chat. Still, is somebody who finds it "hard for me not to insult them while the conversation is going" somebody we want with the ability to ban people at will, even if he has developed the maturity to admit it? Also, it is worth noting that, when Knight had ChatMod powers before, he was involved in the great "Let's ban the Chatlog Bot" plot that led to the bot gaining chatmod rights to prevent banning. And that's just me, Czech's comment makes it sound like there are more, and it doesn't surprise me. Secondly, everytime somebody gets him in trouble, he tries to make it look like it's their fault and creates a forum which CJC or NXT close. Also, during his last chat mod request, almost every time somebody opposed, he would reply to even small things. I don't want a chat mod who has so much self pride that they can't admit when they've done wrong. He seems to expect people to make exceptions for him when he breaks rules. Maybe once or twice, especially when it's something small (not that I'm saying I give him exceptions) but when he's been warned, he just does it again. People who would make good mods should not only follow all of the rules (I know that isn't always possible) but learn from their mistakes. I guess they have to realize that they make mistakes though. He spams (for want of a better word, something tells me people will complain if I use "advertizes") his MOCs on chat. I know it's a small thing, but he doesn't give a reason. He does ask, but he doesn't say what for. He'll bring it up in conversation, then ask. Why do we need to see your MOCs? To me, it just seems like he's trying to switch the conversation over to himself. Honestly, he seems rather self-centered. I could go into more detail about this, but I won't. "Do you already try your hardest to make chat a better place?" You wrote this, right Hades? The last two times I've entered chat when he is on, he has said something like "AUGGHHHHHH" or, er, well, the other time was kind of a personal attack, so I'd rather not say that. I don't see how screaming or whatever when a user he doesn't like comes on chat helps make it a better place, nor do I see how advertising/spamming/I need a better word showing-off his MOCs helps us. Whenever he feels wronged, he not only acts like he wasn't at fault, but looses control and makes threats. I remember seeing this at least twice. He overreacts. On a few occasions where he has spoken to me about himself, all I'll say is "whatever." He takes offense to that and can't seem to fathom why I'm not listening. Well, that's what he thinks. I am listening, I just don't care. Now, let's go over a few chat rules: "Stay on Topic: If there is an active discussion, don't interrupt with a completely unrelated topic, unless it's something that needs immediate attention." MOC pages links. He hasn't disrupted chat with them recently, at least not without asking, but I've only been on with him twice since he last did it. "Nothing controversial: Steer clear of political or religious topics." I recall Ajr claiming he was making racist remarks about Canadians a month or so ago. "Don't advertise: Your website, LEGO model, wiki, picture, video, etc. may be cool, but that doesn't mean everyone wants to hear about it." I don't need to rant about this again, and SSX, if/when your read this, if you feel the need to reply, skip this one. We've argued it to death. And a wiki policy: "Use common sense: If something seems like a stupid thing to do, don't do it. If you are worried that your actions will offend another user, they most likely will." I think that you can find examples through this where he hasn't used common sense, and that's just with my experience with him. Though his edits are usually decent, editing has nothing to do with chat. Nominations, supports, opposes, etc. should not be based on the number or quality of edits. Unless, you know, it's vandalism, but I digress. :P Like CzechMate, said, he is actually pretty immature. Not like lying to get friends and spelling everything ron immature, but the "I (he) can do no wrong" immature.
