Background[]
Buggy, also known as Buggy the Clown, is a flamboyant and unhinged pirate who is the captain of the Buggy Pirates. Buggy possesses the ability to split his body into flying parts at will after consuming the Chop-Chop Fruit. He attacked Orange Town and captured the newly formed Straw Hat Pirates in an attempt to steal their map to the Grand Line. However, he was ultimately defeated by the crew.
Following his defeat, Buggy was captured by the Arlong Pirates, who arrived in Orange Town and coerced him into helping them track down Luffy. Using his Devil Fruit powers, Buggy guided them to Baratie, where Arlong’s crew later took Nami and departed. Buggy then formed a temporary alliance with the Straw Hat Pirates, agreeing to help them reach Arlong Park in exchange for the recovery of his separated body parts. After regaining his full form during the final battle with Arlong’s crew, he quickly fled.
