Celeborn is a minifigure from the theme The Lord of the Rings who appears only in LEGO The Lord of the Rings: The Video Game.
Background
Celeborn was an elf and was the husband of Galadriel and one of the oldest living beings in Middle-Earth. He and Galadriel greeted the Fellowship of the Ring when they arrived in their realm, and sent them on their way with various gifts. Celeborn would later lead the defense of Lothlorien and pursue the enemy into Mirkwood, eventually linking up with King Thranduil. His fate differs between The Lord of the Rings books and movies; in the former he remained in Middle-Earth for some years with his grandsons, the sons of Elrond, while in the latter he departed with Elrond and Galadriel.
Notes
- He is portrayed by Marton Csokas, who also plays Poggle the Lesser in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones.
- In the video game, Celeborn is depicted as mainly cleaning up on behalf of his wife; this may be a nod to the minimal role he played in the films and in the novels, though the appendices in The Return of the King featured him battling Sauron's forces in Mirkwood along with Thranduil.
