Background[]
Chani Kynes was the daughter of Liet Kynes, a Fremen. During his childhood, Paul Maub’Dib Atriedes dreamed of her. When he, along with his mother were discovered by Fremen in the desert of Arrakis, she became a close friend with Paul. Later, they married. When Paul became Emperor of Arrakis, she bore him two children: Leto II and Ghanima. She unfortunately died during childbirth, much to Paul’s sadness.
