Chen is a minifigure in Ninjago in 2015. He will be a main antagonist of the fourth season of the Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu TV Series. He is Skylor's father.
Background
Master Chen is a deceitful person who had once trained Garmadon. In season four he hosts a tournament called the "Tournament of Elements" and invites the Ninja. However, "only one can remain" in the tournament. In "Only One Can Remain" Sensei Garmadon reveals Chen had betrayed the Elemental Masters during the Serpentine Wars, Chen had allied himself with the Serpentine and turned the Elemental Masters against each other, but they still, barely, managed to defeat the Serpentine. Also Chen was Garmadon's sensei, and convinced him to sign his name to a letter written by Wu in order to woo Misako. During the Serpentine War, he tricked both sides into thinking that the other would attack, and then sided with the Serpentine while turning the Elemental Masters against each other. At the end of the war he was banished to an island for his crimes, but established a successful restaurant chain in Ninjago. He captured Zane and P.I.X.A.L., using the former to lure the other four ninja into joining his tournament. His daughter is Skylor, who inherited her elemental power of Amber from Chen's unseen ex-wife, and whom Chen planted in the tournament to spy on the Elemental Masters and keep them from banding together against him. Unfortunately for Chen, Skylor's growing feelings for Kai and her recognition of his evil path turned her against him, though he did manage to use her power of Amber to complete his plan to transform his cult into Anacondrai. He then invaded New Ninjago City, capturing Pythor in order to use his sweat to make the transformation permanent, and revealing the truth of Garmadon's old deception to Wu and Misako. However, he met his end when Garmadon allowed himself to be banished to the Cursed Realm, freeing the Serpentine General spirits to whom Chen had lied previously. They then cursed Chen, sending him and his followers into the Cursed Realm, and Chen's pleas for help went unheeded by his daughter, who finally saw her father for the monster he was.

- His head piece is unique to his minifigure.
- Chen seems to have a child-like personality, but he has been proven how evil he is.
- He is Skylor's father. But the relationship between him and Skylor's mother was never explained in the show.
- He does not have a cape in 70746 Condrai Copter Attack. His staff of Elements is also can be found only in 70749.
- He owns a noodle shop called "Chen's noodles" in New Ninjago City. As of 'The Corridors of Elders' his business is currently run by his daughter Skylor.
- Pythor referred to him as a "Culturally insensitive noodle baron".
- He was Garmadon's Sensei and he taught him to win and any cost no matter who he hurts. He also became a reason of relationship between Garmadon and Misako, and Lloyd exists only because of him.
- He was the reason of the Serpentine Wars. He tricked both sides into thinking that the other would attack.
- According to Garmadon he has a penchant for theatrics. He also lies at times about having far fetched tales. An example is he won a roller-blade tournament with a record of 100 points and Clouse also mentioned that he was born with skates on his feet.
- It is unknown how he and his cultists found Zane and P.I.X.A.L., let alone how they knew about them. However in the video game 'Shadow Of Ronin', its revealed that Ronin had sold Zane to Chen.
- His appearance is referenced to Shang Tsung from Mortal Kombat. He may also be based on Mola Ram from Temple of Doom.
- In The Day of the Dragon, he turns into an Anacondrai along with Skylor, Garmadon and many others.
- Though while many Ninjago protagonists had been turned into snakes, Chen (with the exception of his cult and Garmadon) is the first Ninjago antagonist to be turn into a snake.
- Although Clouse was his second in command, Chen didn't notice Clouse's disappearance.
- It is unknown why or how Chen knew about the existence of Pythor.
- In "Corridor of Elders" he revealed the truth about the love letter to Wu and Misako.
- He and his Anacondrai army were sent to the Curse Realm in "The Corridors of Elders".
