The commander is a minifigure who appears in Space Adventures - Mars Alien Attack. He is the leader of the astronauts in the book, but he has not appeared in any actual Mars Mission sets. He also makes a cameo appearance in the Power Miners magazine comic Chaos Beneath The Surface!
Description[]
The commander wears a green suit and orange tie, with a medal on his suit as well. He has a green military cap featuring the Classic Space logo used by the Mars Mission astronauts. He has a brown, bushy mustache and eyebrows, closely resembling the face of physical minifigures first introduced in 4728 Escape from Privet Drive's Vernon Dursley; however, the rest of the commander's design seems to be comprised of unique pieces not found in sets.

In Space Adventures - Mars Alien Attack, the commander is the leader of the astronauts on Mars, in lieu of the toyline's Mission Commander (who instead appears in the book as Jaz). His office is located in the 7690 MB-01 Eagle Command Base. The commander is angry that Gunner and Jaz went out to the canyon alone, but Jaz shows him a 100% pure Energy Crystal that was retrieved from the canyon. With some convincing, the commander allows them to continue their mission. After they succeed and return to base, the commander congratulates Jaz and Gunner.
In the extended BrickMaster Edition of Chaos Beneath The Surface!, the commander is present in the briefing room where Brains explains the need to investigate seismic activities.[1]
