Lego Dimensions 2: The Unexpected Return is a non toys-to-life sequel to LEGO Dimensions 6 years later on September 27, 2021, year 2 will follow up on September 27, 2022. Featuring over 500 characters, minifigure-scale vehicles, and nearly 30 new franchises! If you purchased the remake of the first game released alongside the sequel, then you can transfer your data to the sequel and you will be able to combine both games and have all the characters, vehicles, and hub worlds all together! Minifigure Series Tie-In

LEGO and TT Games will also team up to do a Minifigures series for the game. The figures included are Shrek, Gru, Ben 10, Mordecai, Rigby, Gordon Freeman, Steven Universe, Garnet, Godzilla, King Kong, Goku, Vegeta, Lord Vortech, and the Hellbat. Each blind bag will include an exclusive code for a hidden character as well. Series 2 will include Tom, Jerry, Glamrock Freddy, Springtrap, Sans, Mega Man, Ryu, Lara Croft, Grug, Papa Smurf, Captain Underpants, Gumball, Timmy Turner, Po, and Scott Tracy along with even more exclusive character codes.

New Features

To mimic the large groups of characters that players could summon in the first LEGO Dimensions game, this game will have a brand new party system that allows players to have up to seven characters spawned in at once. It will also be one of the only LEGO games to have online multiplayer as an option, as well as difficulty modes (easy, medium, hard, and nightmare). These difficulty modes will change things such as the amount of damage you deal towards enemies, the penalties for dying, and generally how difficult the game is.
