The story mode follows the plot of Episode I to Episode VII. Additional levels can be found in certain areas on certain planets to play through levels of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. There are 2 bonus levels that focus on the Old Republic era, one being before the events of "Knights of the Old Republic" and the other following the events of Darth Nihilus' invasion. The DLC called "Clone of 14" can be purchased to unlock a Yoda Chronicles level and Yoda Chronicles characters. The DLC "Into Rogue" can be purchased to unlock a three-part "Star Wars: Rogue One" story with the characters in relation. The DLC "Unleash the Force" can be purchased to unlock a level based on "The Force Unleashed". The respective characters are also available.

The game begins with the Rebel Alliance getting ready to take down the wave of Stormtroopers, the same way Episode IV begins. C-3PO and R2-D2 are looking for their escape pod until smoke arises and Darth Vader's face is shown. The game pans over back to Episode I where Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi are to negotiate with Viceroy Nute Gunray. Upon arrival, the two Jedi are greeted by TC-14. TO BE CONTINUED!
