Dorama is a Ninjago minifigure introduced in 2023 in Ninjago: Dragons Rising before physically debuting in 2025. He is an evil technician and a former entertainer in the Crossroads.

Background[]

The premiere performer at the annual Crossroads Carnival, Dorama eventually resorted to deranged methods to retain his position, kidnapping Whack Rats and using their life force to fuel his fireworks displays. He was found out by Arin, Sora, and Riyu, who with the aid of their mentor Lloyd confronted Dorama in an attempt to stop him and free his captives. Though Dorama unleashed several formidable devices, including a massive mechanical puppet, he was ultimately defeated. However, Lord Ras intercepted the call made by the Ninja to the authorities and came and freed Dorama, who he then brought to Imperium

Dorama's technical expertise allowed him to repair the original Photac, which Sora had built and then broken during her childhood in Imperium. However, even Dorama was unable to develop other functioning models, requiring the Imperians to force Sora to assist with their project. Dorama would assist in this endeavor, helping to subject the dragon Zanth to a painful energy-draining process in order to persuade Sora to get more Photacs operational. Later, when Sora attempted to escape, Dorama confronted her in search of revenge for their previous encounter but only succeeded in accidentally helping her to free Zanth.

Despite this failure and the imprisonment of his benefactor Ras, Dorama would remain in the service of Empress Beatrix of Imperium. He helped with the special effects for a broadcast she made to the people of Imperium before being sent to retrieve one of the Dragon Energy Cores along with a group of Imperium Guards. This led to a confrontation between him and both the Ninja Kai and Wyldfyre as well as the Lava-Tides, the latter of whom had been entrusted with one of the cores. Dorama succeeded in tricking the Ninja with a fake Dragon Energy Core, and he then returned to Imperium with the real one.

When the Empress attempted to run a test of a weapon powered by all three Dragon Cores, Dorama was present when it failed due to one of the cores proving to be a fake. This led him to be suspicious of Rapton, another of the agents sent after the Dragon Cores, and he soon learned that the dragon hunter had secretly joined the Imperium Resistance. Dorama attacked Rapton as he was assisting Sora, Percival Tartigrade, and Riyu in making a broadcast to Imperium's citizens, but was defeated by the infant dragon Riyu. He would later praise Empress Beatrix's theatrical approach, until Rapton pointed out that her villainy would see him destroyed along with the rest of the Merged Lands.

Avoiding incarceration yet again and escaping with a stash of Imperium tech, Dorama attempted to establish an "acting academy" in the wilds of the Merged Lands. He recruited students by having his colleague Fedulian send travelers out into the wastes with misleading maps, and then captured them using his upgraded puppet and other devices. He would eventually capture Cole, Zane, Bonzle, and Jiro through this means, but they proved rather more formidable than his other captives. Despite a difficult battle, the two Ninja and their friends defeated Dorama and delivered him into the custody of his other "students", who took Dorama back with them to civilization to face justice.
