His Third Age variation is nearly identical in appearance to the one in 79006 The Council of Elrond, and has all the same abilities.

Background[]

Elrond Half-elven was one of the mighty rulers of old that still remained in Middle-earth during the Third Age. He founded the refuge of Rivendell in the Valley of Imladris. Elrond also bore one of the Three Rings of the Elves. He was the father of Arwen Evenstar.

In the Second Age, he fought in the Last Alliance of Men and Elves, as the herald of king Gil-galad. After the One Ring was cut off of Sauron's finger, Elrond told Isildur to destroy the Ring. Not heeding Elrond's advice, Isildur took the Ring and left. When Isildur was killed, the shards of Narsil, the broken sword of Elendil, were brought to Rivendell to be kept until reforged again.

When Bilbo Baggins, along with Thorin and company, came to Rivendell, Elrond let them stay and offered them counsel. As a member of the White Council, Elrond consulted with Gandalf, Galadriel, and Saruman regarding the Necromancer of Dol Guldur. He would later travel to Dol Guldur alongside other members of the council and the wizard Radagast to rescue Gandalf from the Necromancer, who was revealed to be Sauron. Elrond confronted the Witch-King and other Ringwraiths, but was overruled by Saruman when he suggested that a watch be placed on Mordor following Sauron’s banishment from Dol Guldur.

Elrond cared for Aragorn, descendant of Isildur, like a son until he was grown to become King of Gondor. During this period he reluctantly watched Aragorn and Arwen fall in love. During the events of the Third Age, Elrond housed the 'Council of Elrond' in Rivendell, formed the Fellowship of the Ring, gave helping guidance and council to the Fellowship, and brought Andúril to Aragorn. Elrond departed Middle-earth alongside Galadriel, Celeborn, Gandalf, Bilbo Baggins, and Frodo Baggins for the Undying Lands at the very end of the Third Age.
