Background[]

Farmer Proudfoot was a member of the Proudfoots, a family of hobbits of the Shire. At least some of the family, including Farmer Proudfoot and his wife, are known to have attended Bilbo Baggins’ eleventy-first birthday party, and to have preferred the plural “Proudfeet” in reference to their family.
